In response to rock superstar Bruce Springsteen’s implication that he will head to Australia if President Donald Trump is reelected, comedian Michael Loftus has quipped that “With Springsteen saying this, I guess it gives new meaning to ‘Born to Run.'” Loftus added that “‘Born in the USA,’ retired in a kangaroo’s pouch.”

Loftus appeared on Fox & Friends to weigh in on the latest series of empty promises from a long list of pampered, self-delusional, and low-information celebrities who never followed up on fleeing America after the 2016 election. Tommy Lee, the drummer for the aptly named Motley Crue band, also claims he’s headed to the exits if Sleepy Joe Biden falls short.

In an exchange with co-host Jedediah Bila, Loftus insisted. in effect, that these celebrities are all talk and no action, to borrow a term from the Trump lexicon.

“Of course they’re not gonna follow through. We knew the celebrities were self-centered. We knew they were stupid. We just didn’t know how cowardly they were. I’m tired of these people saying this…’If I don’t get the president I want, I’m going to leave.’ All right; well, you’re not the kind of person I think I want around. I’m glad we didn’t have celebrities like this in World War II…’ Roosevelt’s not my president. I can’t fight on Omaha beach. I’m out of here.’ They’re horrible…”

The comedian added that the U.S. should enact what he satirically described as a new “candyman” law. “If you declare it three times, you have to leave. Don’t let the door hit you where the good lord split ya.”

Bila wondered if these celebs (who epitomize the term limousine liberal, or champagne socialist in the U.K.) with their inflated sense of self-importance are serious about outsourcing themselves, they should just go ahead and do it without the hoopla of preannouncing it to the world.

“They really think they’re that important. They really think that we’re walking around going ‘wait, what, Springsteen’s gonna leave and Tommy Lee? Oh, I’m changing my vote!” Loftus replied.

Loftus then proposed a reality show along the lines of Big Brother where prominent Trump haters from the entertainment sector live in a big house in the middle of nowhere, perhaps in Australia’s Outback. As each one is voted out, they’d “have to get real jobs. We tell the winner they get to come back to America. But no, we put them on a plane to Venezuela because they suck.”

“You’re describing a reality show that I would very much watch,” Bila admitted. “It would be fascinating.”

Tommy Lee claimed he would move back to his motherland, by which he probably means Greece where he was born.

Ironically, the only anti-Trump, woke celebrity who moved to Canada, which is one of the often-mentioned locations, is Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. Although it was only temporary, she and Prince Harry left London for Canada, before eventually settling in the Los Angeles area.
