A Wisconsin official ordered employees to wear face masks when they’re teleconferencing—even when they’re at home alone and at zero risk of contracting or spreading the coronavirus.
Preston Cole is the secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Cole was appointed to the position in 2018 by Democrat Governor Tony Evers.
Cole has a bachelor’s degree in forest management from the University of Missouri. He previously was a parks superintendent in St. Louis. But now he’s a self-anointed coronavirus expert.
In a laughable July 31 email, Cole urged his employees to wear face masks on video conferences even when nobody else is around at home. This defies logic and science.
“Wear your mask, even if you are home, to participate in a virtual meeting that involves being seen — such as on Zoom or another video-conferencing platform — by non-DNR staff,” Cole told employees. “Set the safety example, which shows you as a DNR public service employee care about the safety and health of others.”
Preston gave the order while reminding employees of Wisconsin governor Tony Evers’ statewide face-mask order.
Dr. Nasia Safdar is an infectious-disease expert and a professor at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. She said Preston Cole’s harebrained suggestion makes no sense.
Dr. Safdar said masks should only be worn at home under exceptional circumstances, such as if you’re living with someone who has COVID-19.
“Beyond that, there is not a reason to routinely wear a mask in your home if that risk isn’t there,” she told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “I would tie mask use to transmission risk. And that doesn’t seem to be a good reason to wear it.”
Republican Wisconsin state representative Joe Sanfelippo rubbished Preston Cole’s suggestion, saying it’s epically stupid to wear masks at home alone.
He said it’s typical of Democrats to promote empty gestures rather than make useful suggestions that actually help people.
“I’m more inclined to support things that actually do help, as opposed to just putting on an appearance of helping,” Sanfelippo said.
As the coronavirus hysteria cranks up, many commentators explained why people are so terrified.
Summit News editor Paul Joseph Watson said a new poll that got barely any media attention shows that “the average American thinks 9% of the U.S. population has died from the coronavirus. That’s 30 million people.”
Watson pointed out that “the actual number is around 160,000. Gee, I wonder why everyone is so hysterical?”

Candace Owens said she believes the media overhyping of COVID-19 “is the greatest rigging of an American election that we are all playing a part in right now.”

Fox News host Tucker Carlson says the Left is weaponizing COVID to usher in a Marxist revolution.
Carlson said almost overnight, Americans have been forced to close their businesses, banned from going to church, browbeaten to wear masks everywhere (including their own home), and remain under house arrest.
Tucker said this is happening at lightning speed through the joint efforts of the Democrat Party and their left-wing minions in the mainstream media and Big Tech.
Meanwhile, the Democrat Party’s “armed militia” of Black Lives Matter and Antifa thugs are the muscle that is terrifying law-abiding Americans on the streets.
“The public understands that our leaders are lying to us,” Carlson said. “Politicians use lockdowns for political ends. In the name of public health, they reward supporters, and they punish their opponents. They’re barely hiding this anymore.”
