Sidney Powell blasts do-nothing Christopher Wray and his ‘same old pattern’

General Michael Flynn’s attorney Sidney Powell is apparently not a fan of FBI Director Christopher Wray and with good reason.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

In an appearance with Lou Dobbs on the Fox Business Channel, Powell wondered about what Wray does when he gets to the office each morning, particularly given the most recent revelations about FBI corruption in the Flynn case.

“Well, he’s been in office quite a long time now, Lou. And he certainly did not produce to the defense the exculpatory evidence regarding General Flynn that’s been in the FBI files for at least three years, or take it to the Attorney General or anything else that we know of. Apparently, it had to be pried out of the FBI with extreme leverage. So I can’t applaud the efforts of Christopher Wray from anything I know or have seen.”

“On top of that, he was Andrew Weissmann’s supervisor when Weissmann was at the Department of Justice on the Enron Task Force, destroyed Arthur Anderson, sent four Merrill Lynch executives to prison on an indictment that didn’t state an offense while they hid the evidence they were innocent for six years. It’s the same old pattern, and Mr. Wray is part of it.”

Weissman was Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s chief lieutenant in the Russia-collusion witch hunt.

Apparently based on some bad advice and instead of picking someone with actual, on-the-ground law enforcement experience, President Trump nominated Wray, a Yale Law School graduate and career DOJ bureaucrat, as FBI director on June 2017 to replace James Comey, and the U.S. Senate confirmed him in August 2017.

The host of Lou Dobbs Tonight noted in the interview that the agency under Wray still hasn’t released the original Flynn interview record, the so-called 302. Only the doctored versions, that led to Flynn’s prosecution by anti-Trump FBI officials, are available and that were used to frame Flynn. The FBI claims that they lost the original paperwork

Said Powell, “It could not have been lost. It could only have been destroyed, because the FBI Sentinel system digitalizes everything, and it stays there or it leaves a trail if it is affirmatively destroyed.”

Michael Flynn was briefly President Trump’s national security adviser before he was targeted by Obama holdovers in the Deep State. His legal case made a major turnaround when he replaced his Beltway law firm with Sidney Powell, a former federal prosecutor.

New evidence in the Flynn case about governmental misconduct prompted the DOJ under Attorney General William Barr to drop the charges, but Judge Emmet Sullivan, a Bill Clinton appointee, has refused thus far to let it go.

In response, Powell has filed an emergency motion in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit called a writ of mandamus which, if granted, would order the judge to dismiss the Flynn indictment and reassign the case to another judge for any additional procedures that may be required to wrap it up.

Instead of dropping the indictment which would be routine, Sullivan also took the highly unusual step of appointing another Clinton-era judge to argue against the dismissal of the case. The Powell team wants this appointment to be quashed primarily based on a new U.S. Supreme Court 9-0 decision that disallowed such outsider,  amicus (or so-called friend of the court) interventions.

In an earlier Fox News interview, former Whitewater special prosecutor Ken Starr described Sullivan’s action as “inappropriate and unlawful” and “overstepping his bounds.” He added that “in our system of government, the decision whether to prosecute and to drop a prosecution is entirely vested in the Justice Department.”
