An armed bread delivery man named Joseph Chilton foiled a robbery at a Hardee’s fast-food restaurant in Georgia by shooting the armed robber during a gun fight.
The robbery suspect, Damario Parrish, was injured after a “short gun battle” with Joseph Chilton, who stepped into action after he heard screams from a Hardee’s restaurant in Ellenwood, Georgia on Nov. 30. No one else was hurt.
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office was so impressed by Chilton’s bravery in “defending those who could not defend themselves” that Sheriff Victor Hill named Chilton an honorary deputy and inducted him into the Sheriff’s Posse Hall of Fame.
Here’s what happened: Joseph Chilton was delivering bread to the Hardee’s at 6:30 a.m on Saturday when he noticed employees frantically running out the back door of the restaurant and heard a woman inside screaming for help.
At the time, Damario Parrish had jumped across the store counter and demanded cash while pointing a gun at a female employee.
“Chilton ran back to his truck to get a firearm and ran back in to help the female in distress,” according to a news release by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. “Chilton ended up shooting Parrish twice, but Parrish managed to flee the scene.”
Apparently, this was not the first time that Damario Parrish had robbed that particular Hardee’s.
“This young man [had] been here twice. The first, he hurt my employees,” employee Mary Ann Reynolds told WSBTV. “The second time, he jumped over and put the gun physically to me.”
Hours later, authorities tracked Parrish back to his nearby home. Parrish initially refused to come out, and a SWAT team had to be called to his house. Authorities said Parrish surrendered to police before the SWAT team arrived.
This incident is the latest example of a “good guy with a gun” preventing crime and possibly, the death of innocent people.
As BizPac Review reported, a Florida woman who was eight-months pregnant used an AR-15 rifle to defend her daughter and injured husband during a violent home invasion last month.
At the time, her husband was being pistol-whipped and kicked in the head by two masked burglars. The commotion alarmed King’s wife, who was in the back bedroom. One of the burglars saw her and shot at her.
That’s when Jeremy’s wife — who’s eight-months pregnant — ran into a back room, grabbed an AR-15 rifle, and stormed into the living room like Arnold Schwarzenegger from “The Terminator.”
She shot one of the intruders. The man fled but was later found dead in a nearby ditch.
Jeremy suffered a concussion, a fractured eye socket and a fractured sinus cavity. He says his wife’s quick thinking and their legal firearm kept his family alive.
While Democrats want to confiscate guns from legal firearm owners, there are numerous instances where a “good guy with a gun” stopped an armed criminal from killing innocent people.
In August 2019, a Missouri resident praised a Good Samaritan who apprehended Dmitriy Nickolayvich Andreychenko, the suspect in the botched Missouri Walmart shooting.
Belew said the former fireman — who chose to remain anonymous — probably prevented the murders of countless people.
