Chris Wallace: Ginsburg exit would leave Dems apoplectic

Fox News host Chris Wallace issued a grim prediction on Friday’s broadcast of  Fox News Radio’s “The Guy Benson Show” in reaction to the news that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has undergone yet another cancer treatment.

While liberal Twitter had an absolute meltdown over the idea that they might lose one of the few left-leaning Justices remaining on the Supreme Court, there might be larger national implications than many had previously thought.

Wallace first wished RBG “long, happy, healthy life” before suggesting that her leaving the court would “make the Kavanaugh hearing, the Gorsuch hearing, Clarence Thomas, it would make it look like a tea party.”

The suggestion that Democrats may go to even further lengths to prevent Trump from nominating another SCOTUS judge isn’t as far-fetched as some would make it seem.

In 2018, CNN’s Chris Cillizza wrote an analysis in which he noted that Democrats have vowed to prevent another Trump nominee from being confirmed to the high court.

“In the immediate aftermath of news Wednesday that Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy will retire, Senate Democrats issued a series of statements promising to ensure that President Donald Trump doesn’t pick a conservative judge in his stead.

‘They are conservative ideologues, not mainstream jurists,’ California Sen. Kamala Harris said of Trump’s list made up of about two dozen potential picks. ‘We cannot and will not accept them to serve on the highest court in the land.'”
This stance is simply political posturing, Cillizza admits, as Democrats don’t have control of the Senate, where SCOTUS nominees are confirmed, and Republicans only need 50 votes, which they would undoubtedly be able to achieve.
But Wallace’s prediction is even more sinister when you realize that Democrats have a history of accusing male nominees of sexual crimes with absolutely no evidence. Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh endured dehumanizing treatment at the hands of progressive Democrats who sought to prevent their Supreme Court nominations. If liberals are willing to sink that low – to convict a man of wrongdoing in the court of public opinion without proper legal corroboration – what might they be capable of in the future?
Wallace goes on to note that he suspects Trump would likely nominate another woman to take the place of Ginsburg, should she choose or be forced to vacate her seat on the Supreme Court.
Democrats would have a more difficult time impugning the character of a female nominee, but that doesn’t mean that it would be impossible. Their twisted version of “feminism” doesn’t do a thing to protect Republican/conservative women from the wrath of their “progressive” political ideology, just ask the likes of Sarah Palin and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Whomever Trump nominates next in the event of a vacancy should expect a fight like they’ve never seen before. The president is going to need to pick wisely, because Democrats will undoubtedly attempt to stonewall the confirmation process at every turn.
