In what appears to be a sleazy attempt to boast and virtue-signal, New York City Bill de Blasio claimed without citing any substantive evidence Saturday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s scheduled raids had already begun but that they were unsuccessful because of him.
“Receiving reports of attempted but reportedly unsuccessful ICE enforcement actions in Sunset Park and Harlem.@NYCImmigrants and advocates are connecting with residents and distributing resources door to door,” he tweeted Saturday morning. “Remember: you have rights. Call 311 and say ActionNYC for help.”
@NYCImmigrants is the Twitter account for the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, which of course de Blasio oversees. What the mayor had been claiming therefore was that ICE had begun its raids early — though he offered no evidence to substantiate this dubious allegation — but that its raids had failed in Sunset Park and Harlem because of efforts by his office.

The tweet sounded boastful, given the mayor’s attempt to pat himself on the back for allegedly saving the illegal aliens in Sunset Park and Harlem. It also sounded like an attempt to virtue-signal, given as it contained instructions on what illegal aliens should do if approached by ICE.
But more than that, it was arguably highly dangerous and potentially traitorous, according to the mayor’s critics on social media:
Unbelievable. Proud of a traitorous act. You pick illegals over citizens. How many will you sponsor. Their cases have been adjudicated and they have orders.

You would rather dangerous criminals walk free? if you were a victim of a crime I presume you would want witnesses to assist the police, or even step in and assist you until help arrives.

Your rhetoric is dangerous and is literally fueling violence, keep it up, Pravda-Bot ?

They are criminals, they had their chance in court and lost. They no longer have rights since they are here illegally and have been court ordered to leave.

The people being deported have had their day in court and have defied court orders to leave the country. DeBlasio clearly and consistently obstructs justice. No one is above the law and federal prosecutors should charge him as such.— Unbiased Honesty (@HonestyUnbiased) July 13, 2019
So the officers will get warrants and come back and then that’ll be that? I’m seriously confused about all of this hand-wringing over people with final orders of deportation and, as reported, criminal records. What am I missing?

The latter two tweeters hit the nail on the head.
Speaking on CBS’s “Face the Nation” last weekend, acting ICE Director Ken Cuccinelli confirmed that the illegals to be targeted in this Sunday’s raid would be those who’ve already gone through the immigration courts but lost their cases.
“They’re ready to just perform their mission, which is to go and find and detain and then deport the approximately one million people who have final removal orders,” he said of his agency’s plans.
He clarified though that the raids to occur Sunday would not actually involve millions (not for now at least) — that due to limited resources and time, the agency would be prioritizing the removal of a couple thousand illegals first.
“They’ve been all the way through the due process and have final removal orders. Who among those will be targeted for this particular effort … is really just information kept within ICE at this point,” he said.
Listen:
President Donald Trump confirmed this as well Friday, telling reporters at the White House that Sunday’s raid would focus primarily on those illegal aliens with criminal records.
“It starts on Sunday and they’re going to take people out and they’re going to bring them back to their countries,” he said. “We are focused on criminals as much as we can before we do anything else.”
This means that de Blasio and his allies throughout the Democrat Party — including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and even the National Democrat Committee (see the tweet below) — are trying to protect CRIMINALS.
Make no mistake, Trump’s ICE raids are an expansion of his administration’s family separation policy and brutal treatment of immigrants. We want to make sure everyone knows their rights and stays safe this weekend. https://t.co/tbFAO1O8M3

The tragic irony is that Democrats have managed to earn the wrath of both conservatives and liberals with their pro-illegal-alien stunts. Conservatives are angry because Democrats are protecting criminals, while liberals are angry that Democrats aren’t just nipping the alleged problem in the bud by simply impeaching the president.
“Maybe you should impeach him or stop sending him money to do ethnic cleansing or stop fighting the people to your left who are actually trying to something,” one far-left liberal tweeted to the DNC Saturday.
By “people to your left,” the tweeter meant the radical group of freshman Democrats who’ve been plotting to defund and potentially outright eliminate the Department of Homeland Security.
Look at this and other radical tweets below:
