Sunday on Fox News, FNC host Chris Wallace mocked President Donald Trump’s senior economic adviser for stating facts about the administration’s successes.
This mockery occurred only shortly before Wallace turned around and sat at his desk like a useless tree stump as Democrat National Committee chair Tom Perez spewed an endless series of lies about healthcare for illegal aliens.
As for the discussion with senior adviser Larry Kudlow, that began with Wallace bringing up a false claim by reparations-friendly Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren that Trump’s economy is only benefiting those at the top.
“How do you respond to that?” Wallace asked.
Kudlow replied by stating the facts.

“I hear some of their policies, I hear some of their narratives,” Kudlow responded with exasperation. “I don’t understand what planet they’re describing. The United States’ economy is booming. It’s running a roughly three percent average since President Trump took office three years ago.”
“The blue-collar workers, the non-supervisory workers, have done the best. They’re the ones running wages at 3-1/2 percent. Their growth and incomes and wages is exceeding the growth of their supervisors. The unemployment rate is low. We just had the best June stock market, the Dow Jones, in over 80 years. That’s going to fill up the 401(k)s of middle-class folks everywhere.”
Wallace tried to interject, saying, “Let me just pick up …”
Undeterred, Kudlow continued dropping some more facts.
“This is very important,” he said. “These are factual issues. I understand that there’s a political spin, but these are factual, measurable areas, and I do not understand their narrative. We are in a strong prosperity cycle, and …”
Wallace then interrupted him again to say, “Larry, Larry, let me interrupt your campaign speech.”
“It’s not a campaign speech,” Kudlow retorted. “I’m citing facts and figures.”
All of them backed by the data.

Stunningly, Wallace replied by bringing up Perez, a man whom he’d later that afternoon let slide on a litany of lies, including the false claim that healthcare for illegals isn’t a handout.
“All I’m saying is this, I don’t think there’s any question, you would agree, and I’m going to be talking with Tom Perez later about the economic record, but there is clearly a stark income inequality in this country. Bernie Sanders pressed that point,” he said.
He then played a clip of Sen. Bernie Sanders claiming during the second Democrat presidential primary debate last week that “real change” is needed to solve so-called income inequality.
After the clip concluded, he asked Kudlow to explain how, if reelected to office in 2020, the president intends to tackle income equality.
Wallace must not read The Wall Street Journal, because according to the paper’s distinguished editorial board, income equality is already down because of Trump.
“Friday’s labor report showed employers added 263,000 jobs in April as the unemployment rate dropped to 3.6%, the lowest in five decades,” the board wrote early last month after the release of one of the best labor reports seen in a minute.
“The best news is that the biggest beneficiaries of this tight labor market are the folks who struggled during the slow-growth Obama years. … [L]ess educated Americans are experiencing faster wage and job growth. Many of the robust job gains came in businesses that hire those with less education. … Believe it or not — and liberals won’t want to admit it — the evidence is that the faster economic growth of the last two years is reducing income inequality.”

In responding to Wallace’s question, Kudlow continued dropping facts.
“What we’re doing right now, we’ve got the best manufacturing autos, blue-collar work recovery, the fastest increase in jobs, the fastest increase in wages. Those are facts,” he said.
“This goes on for many decades. I do not know what some of the candidates are saying. I don’t know what their factual basis is. Economic growth, a strong and durable prosperity cycle, and I will make this warning, some of the policies I’ve heard in some of these early debates, in my judgment, would do great, great damage to this prosperity and jobs and income and wage cycle that we are experiencing.”
Fact-check: True.
To pay for the Democrats’ proposals — which include calls reparations, free healthcare, free college tuition, nullified college loan debts and more — everybody, including the businesses doing all the hiring right now, would be forced to pay exorbitant taxes. And whenever exorbitant taxes enter the picture, so does economic decline.
“So somebody’s got to do a little bit of fact-checking here on what some of these candidates are saying. I would simply say this: The economy is strong. The narrative I’m hearing from the other side, it just ain’t so,” Kudlow concluded.
It’s unclear who’ll do the “little bit of fact-checking,” but you can rest assured it won’t be Wallace.
