Tenn. Republicans refuse to apologize for using satirical Ocasio-Cortez meme after Dems pitch a fit

Even though far-leftists mockridicule and insult President Donald Trump and his supporters nearly every minute of every day, these same sorts of radically left-wing activists threw a fit last week after a Tennessee chapter of the Republican Party dared to mock Democrat starlet Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

A meme shared in an email sent last week by the Williamson County Republican Party reportedly featured a snapshot of the fact-averse congresswoman speaking with a media reporter.

Included in the meme were fake captions that showed the reporter asking Ocasio-Cortez her opinion on Roe vs. Wade and the congresswoman replying with a stupid answer, as usual.

In response to this harmless meme, the same leftists who practically earn a living demonizing anyone even remotely affiliated with Trump began crying foul, accusing the Williamson County Republican Party of perpetuating racism, bigotry, hatred and blah, blah, blah.

But in a bold statement issued this Tuesday, the party’s chairwoman, Debbie Deaver, made it clear that, unlike the oftentimes feckless Republicans in the national Congress, these Tennessee Republicans have no intention of backing down and apologizing.

“Allowing a few people on the left to whip up media outrage over political satire is just another example of the left manipulating the press to present their narrative as truth and all other views as wrong or worse, racist,” she said in an email statement to The Tennessean.

“The Republican Party of Williamson County will not let those outside our organization tell us what we can or can’t say,” she continued, adding that nobody within the party had complained about the mockery, and noting that nobody on the left complained when Ocasio-Cortez referenced gang rape last week.

“While the Williamson County Republican Party respects the rights of all individuals and we stand united by the Republican Party platform as a big tent where all are welcome, we do grant our members the platitude to decide for themselves what offends them,” Deaver concluded.

That’s called standing up to the mob, and chances are Deaver learned how to do this from the president. And don’t kid yourself, because the mob’s hypocritical whining has been intense.

“This is a tired, old racist joke that the Williamson County Republican Party has now shopped around in meme form, additionally attacking a Democratic congresswoman,” Williamson County Democrat Party chair Holly McCall whined to The Tennessean.

Similar sentiments were seen on Twitter:

Note that not a single one of these bellyachers explained how exactly the meme about Ocasio-Cortez — one meme compared to the hundreds about Trump shared daily — was racist.

Speaking with The Tennessee Star, Deaver seemed livid at the hypocrisy.

“Democrats are making profanity laced speeches, holding vile and disgusting signs at their anti-Trump marches, and her fellow Democrat member of Congress Rashida Tlaib drops an F-bomb — all with absolute silence from The Tennessean and Tennessee Democrats,” she said.

“We are not going to let fake outrage from the Democrats and The Tennessean dictate the way we point out and underline the ignorance and idiocy displayed by public officials that the Democrats have put in positions of power that put our country and families at grave risk.”

Ocasio-Cortez is indeed known for making outrageous proclamations. This week she attacked capitalism for being a system that “allows billionaires to exist,” claimed that so-called “climate change” is “our World War 2” and predicted that the world won’t exist in 12 years.

She’s also the mastermind of a radical “Green New Deal” proposal that calls for using draconian government regulations coupled with federal subsidies to wipe the fossil fuel industry out of existence and replace all of America’s energy production with renewables within 10 years.

But God forbid anybody mock this delicate genius the way leftists mock Trump daily:

God forbid …
