Macy’s parade ‘Rockettes seem even whiter this year’ and people noticed! Breakdown of 36 dancers …

The Rockettes delivered a seemingly flawless performance in freezing temperatures in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade but many have found plenty wrong with the dance group’s lineup.

The famous New York precision dancers braved record cold parade temperatures on Thursday, wearing gold sequined dresses in a three-minute Christmas dance routine that showed off their signature high kicks and synchronized dance moves.

But the reaction from many online was just lukewarm, and for some, raging hot as they blasted the 36-member group for its lack of diversity as almost every one of them was white.

Women have to be between 5’6” and 5’10” in height to even audition for a coveted position with the 80-member cast. which puts on regular performances, including the annual Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.

The Thanksgiving Day production was panned online as viewers blasted the dance group.

Someone did come to the Rockettes’ defense, tweeting about the demanding auditon process.

But even that tweet was shredded.

Founded in 1925, the Rockettes have been performing in New York City’s Radio City Music Hall since 1932 and have been part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade since 1952.
