Trump finally gets involved after stonewalling of docs by DOJ drags on, but is this strong enough?

President Donald Trump urged the Department of Justice to release documents to the House Intelligence Committee that will buttress recent press reports suggesting the Obama FBI had embedded a spy inside his 2016 campaign to rig the election for Hillary Clinton.

“If the FBI or DOJ was infiltrating a campaign for the benefit of another campaign, that is a really big deal,” Trump tweeted. “Only the release or review of documents that the House Intelligence Committee (also, Senate Judiciary) is asking for can give the conclusive answers. Drain the Swamp!”

Congressman Devin Nunes — the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee — has repeatedly asked the DOJ to let his committee see the documents related to the Obama FBI’s secret investigation of the Trump campaign when he was a private citizen.

The Justice Department has refused to release the documents, even though the House Intelligence Committee has oversight of the agency and has the right to demand the files.

Congressman Nunes has threatened to hold DOJ officials in contempt of Congress if they don’t release the documents he has been demanding for months.

Making things even more absurd is the fact that FBI officials leaked information about the investigation to the New York Times and the Washington Post while ignoring multiple Congressional requests for information.

The FBI, which still employee numerous anti-Trump Obama holdovers, is part of the DOJ. It is unlawful for DOJ and FBI employees to leak top-secret intel to the media, but they have done so repeatedly ever since President Trump took office.

While the Trump-hating media are mocking his claims that the Obama FBI had planted a spy within his 2016 campaign, sources confirmed this to the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal.

Trump said the illegal surveillance of private citizens to rig a public election is the “all-time biggest scandal.” And he’s correct.

Bongino also called out the “hacks” in the mainstream media that have obsessively covered up Obama’s numerous wrongdoings.

Last week, anonymous former operatives of the Obama FBI revealed to the New York Times that the covert operation to spy on Donald Trump when he was a private citizen was called “Crossfire Hurricane.”

Former Obama Secret Service agent, Dan Bongino, explained on Twitter how the Obama FBI and CIA’s repeated denials about not illegally surveilling Trump has unraveled under scrutiny.

The New York Times has refused to name the confidential informant who entrapped former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos. Many journalists called this hypocritical.

Saagar Enjeti of the Daily Caller mused: “The New York Times refuses to name the confidential informant who made contact w/ the Trump campaign. They had no qualms revealing the name of a covert CIA official running operations against Iran less than a year ago.”

The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross revealed that the spy was Stefan Halper, an American professor who teaches at Cambridge University in England.

UPDATE: President Trump tweeted: “I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!”
