Donald Trump responded to the Golden Globes-fueled hysteria around The Oprah’s speech, which was timed with an NBC tweet that pronounced her the “2020 president” (now deleted).
The president not only said that “he’d beat her,” but that running against Oprah would be “a lot of fun.”
“Oprah will be lots of fun. I did one of her last shows…. I like Oprah. I don’t think she’s going to run.”
The president delivered the remarks at a bipartisan immigration luncheon with reporters in attendance.
The speculation about a Trump vs. Oprah matchup in 2020 has been rampant. Many pointed out the hypocrisy of the left:
Left: “Trump’s just a billionaire TV star with no relevant experience, how dare you vote for him?!”
Also Left: “OMG you guys we should totally elect Oprah!”

Some looked into their crystal balls and didn’t see Trump (because he’s supposedly going to be impeached and run out of office or something).
I've not weighed in on Oprah – although I would love to see a black woman run – because it's just too early. But I will say this: there's a greater chance Oprah will be a candidate in 2020 than Trump.

Oprah will not have to beat Trump in 2020. He will not be a candidate.

While others beat the ‘go Trump’ wardrums in anticipation of an Oprah matchup.
