Joy Villa speaks about sexual assault complaint against Lewandowski, clears up stance on Trump

Pro-Trump singer Joy Villa has filed a sexual assault complaint against former Trump campaign manager Cory Lewandowski for an alleged incident that occurred during a November post-Thanksgiving party at Trump International Hotel in Washington DC, and she is set to tell detectives her story next week.

During a phone interview with the Associated Press, Villa alleged that Lewandowski twice hit “extremely hard” on the buttocks, the second time after she explicitly told him to stop.

“I didn’t know him [Lewandowski] at all. I only knew him by reputation. He broke my trust,” Villa said, describing the incident as “disgusting and shocking and demeaning.”

At first, the singer was hesitant to bring the issue forward for fear of backlash, but was later convinced by a friend who witnessed the incident as well as other friends who felt she should tell her side of the story.

Villa’s upcoming visit with detectives could be bad news for Lewandowski. According to the AP, Villa “initially thought it was sexual harassment, but police told her that touching someone on any body part that is sexual in nature constituted sexual assault. She said she was told it was classified as a misdemeanor.”

“I did nothing wrong,” the 26-year-old singer said. “I realized if he’s not going to respond or apologize to me, I think it’s the right thing to do.”

Last week, Villa tweeted a picture of the former Trump campaign manager just before the alleged incident, along with the comment: “Here’s the photo of @CLewandowski_ seconds before he slapped my ass, I told him to stop, and then he did it again. I was shocked and embarrassed by his behavior.”

Villa, famous for wearing a blue “Make America Great Again” dress to the 2017 Grammy Awards,  is considering a “congressional run for the state of Florida,” and has launched an exploratory committee to research her chances. Despite the alleged assault coming from someone reportedly still close to the president, her support for Trump remains undaunted.
