A lot of people seem to have an ax to grind with the First Lady. Is it a case of jealousy?
Last summer, Slovenian magazine The Suzy suggested that Melania Trump worked as a high-end escort before marrying her husband. The outlet has now rolled out an apology after the First Lady slapped them with a lawsuit.
Prior to meeting the billionaire real estate developer-turned President, Mrs. Trump was a fashion model. The Suzy article from last year said the agency at which Mrs. Trump worked offers an “elite escort” service.
The piece may have gotten traction due to immense public interest the former model received in light of her husband’s controversial presidential bid.

Mrs. Trump’s Slovenian lawyer, Natasa Pirc Musar, said on Friday that the lawsuit against The Suzy ended in an out of court settlement, AP reports.
The magazine issued an apology, saying the article “was understood as if Melania Trump conducted the escort job. We have no proof for that. So we apologize. We had no intention to hurt and offend Mrs. Trump.”
Natasa Lusa, who sits on the magazine’s publishing board, confirmed that the apology was part of the legal settlement. The sum of the financial compensation has not been disclosed.
Pirc Musar claimed victory for the First Lady.
“The fact that the case is closed is a proof that even in the future Mrs. Trump will not allow insults and lies on her account and will always react to protect her rights and interests” she said.
The 47-year-old Mrs. Trump met her famous husband at a Fashion Week party in 1998. Her poise, fashion sense, and apolitical philanthropy have made her a popular First Lady.
