The feud between ‘Father of the Year’ Lavar Ball and President Trump just got a little more weird after Ball took things up a notch with a massive Twitter troll of the president.
On Thursday evening, Ball tweeted an animation of himself staring down, then dunking on a visibly angry Donald Trump, who immediately takes his phone out to tweet about it himself.

The tweet went viral, and some noticed the painstaking detail of the animation, right down to what was portrayed on Trump’s phone.

The feud started after President Trump pulled a few strings to get Ball’s shoplifting son, LiAngelo, and his friends out of a Chinese jail. All the president expected was a little gratitude and, although LiAngelo eventually thanked him, his father proceeded to downplay the crime and publicly refuse to give the president any credit for getting his son released.
Which prompted Trump to rhetorically wonder if he should have just left the UCLA players in jail.
Of late, Lavar has tried to downplay the feud by wondering aloud why the leader of the free world is bothering with something so trivial, saying on CNN:
“If he said he helped, that’s good for his mind. If you helped, you shouldn’t have to say anything. If I helped somebody, I don’t walk around saying, ‘you know I helped you now.’ Come on now, gimme some love. I helped you.’ Somebody told me about [the president’s tweet] a couple days ago. I don’t even tweet, I’m just saying why is that on your mind? All of this stuff going on and that’s on your mind, that a father didn’t say thank you? And you’re the head of the U.S.? Come on. You not even talking about what I’m doing.
“There’s a lot of other things that’s going on. Let him do his political affairs, and let me handle my son and let’s just stay in our lane.”
Echoing those sentiments, Lavar’s tweet (even though he told CNN that he doesn’t tweet) included the hashtags #thetrumpdunk and #stayinyolane.
Conservatives were quick to light up the tweet:
