Senator Menendez’s reason for FBI investigation into his corruption will warm every Democrat’s heart

Like a good liberal, Sen. Bob Menendez was quick to play the race card as an excuse for the FBI’s investigation of him on corruption charges.

During a Friday news conference the New Jersey senator said “certain elements” of the FBI fueled the investigation against him because he’s “Latino.”

“Certain elements of the FBI and of our state cannot understand or even worse accept that the Latino kid from Union City and Hudson County can grow up to be a United States senator and be honest,” he said. “I can’t even begin to tell you how many people have come to tell me that the FBI went to them and asked them, ‘What can you give us on Menendez?’”

Menendez’s trial ended in a mistrial after 10 jurors wanted to find him not guilty and two believed he was guilty. The senator thanked God for being let off the hook.

“By His grace that I was delivered from an unjust prosecution,” he said, adding that the jury “saw through the false claims” because they had “Jersey common sense.”

“The way this case started was wrong, the way it was investigated was wrong, the way it was prosecuted was wrong, the way it was tried was wrong as well,” Menendez said.

Menendez launched a threatening warning shot at his political rivals too.

“To those who were digging my political grave so they could jump into my seat: I know who you are, and I won’t forget you,” he said.

If Sen. Menendez wants to find actual anti-Hispanic racism he should check his own party.

On Thursday, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus denied the application of Florida Republican Rep. Carlos Curbelo. The solely Democrat group voted to keep Rep. Curbelo out, in part, because of his opposition to the DREAM ACT, which essentially grants illegal aliens brought into America as minors legal status.

Curbelo blasted the Caucus’ decision as a bigoted, “pre-cooked” plan because he’s a Republican.
