On Wednesday, Rosie O’Donnell added another layer to the ongoing saga that is Kathy Griffin’s dead career.
“What Kathy did, I think, was a mistake,” O’Donnell said on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show.
“I’m the one — I called her and told her right away, ‘You take it down. You pick up your iPhone, you apologize,’ ” Rosie said.
“You take what the enemy does to terrorize Americans — cuts off the head of [journalists] Daniel Pearl and James Foley — and when I saw the image, that’s the first thing I thought was, ‘Kathy, that’s wrong,’ ” O’Donnell added.
Sadly, when humorless comedian Kathy Griffin sobbed that President Donald Trump “broke me,” she wasn’t kidding.
Losing sight of the one consistency at play, that nobody cares what she has to say, the suddenly mane-deprived Griffin admitted that she “knew what I was doing” when she posed with a bloody fake head meant to represent Trump.
Griffin then had the temerity to whine that she was a victim being used to distract from the Russia probe. She also took back her apology in August.
Either she is really stupid, or Griffin thinks the American people are stupid, as she said in an interview on BBC that she wasn’t aware that Islamic terrorists beheaded people like Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was killed in 2002, until Rosie O’Donnell told her.
“Yes, I knew what I was doing,” Griffin said, “and the reason I apologized is my good friend Rosie O’Donnell, the preeminent expert, by the way, of being trolled by this fool, the accidental president as I call it. You know, he’s been trolling her for 10 years.”
“And so, she said the words, “What if Daniel Pearl’s mother saw this?”… And when she said this I said, ‘Oh my gosh, and I’ve never apologized for a joke but I get it.”
Griffin’s perception of her elevated self-worth led her to play the role of the real victim in all of this.
“The Trump psychos still came after me,” she whined. “And the president was thrilled to have something to distract the country away from the Russian investigation.”
