Laura Ingraham bluntly explains why Republicans OWN Trump’s Democrat deal, and it’s spot-on

Talk radio host Laura Ingraham thinks Republicans have no one but themselves to blame for President Trump’s surprising deal with Democrats.

“What did they think was gonna happen?” Ingraham asked on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier” Thursday.

“To hear Ben Sasse and all these people turning themselves inside and out,”she said, referring to GOP lawmakers who were up in arms over Trump’s unexpected deal with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and New York Senator Chuck Schumer.

“Mitch McConnell looks like, y’know, he’s lost his best friend,” Ingraham added.

“They kept telling Donald Trump for several months that ‘don’t worry, this is a very complex process, this Obamacare repeal, but we got it.’ Then they said, ‘wait we almost have it on the skinny repeal, it’s not as good but it’s gonna be pretty good,'” she said, noting how Sen. John McCain stepped in and “blows the whole thing up.”

“Time after time after time, Donald Trump trusted what was going on at Capitol Hill. They could not deliver a piece of legislation to his desk that actually could be signed. It wasn’t possible,” Ingraham said.

“So what does someone who’s a conservative populist do?” Ingraham asked. “When he wants to move the ball down the field? He’s gonna find, ‘OK, what other player can I throw to? And the only one who’s on the field for him was gonna be Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.”

Trump sided with the Democrats on the deal that raises the debt ceiling and provides relief for Hurricane Harvey victims. House Speaker Paul Ryan slammed the “ridiculous” deal just hours before the president announced his agreement with the Democratic leaders.

Fox Business’s Lou Dobbs blasted the “hapless fool” Paul Ryan who has accomplished “next to nothing” and suggested Trump was getting back at him and other GOP leaders who have failed his legislative agenda. Meanwhile, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace piled on the Speaker, asking ““Why can’t Paul Ryan be a man” and stand up to Trump.

Ingraham concluded that the president did what he needed to do in the face of constant blocking by the GOP leaders who should have been more supportive and aggressive in getting his agenda accomplished.

“The Republicans have no one to blame but themselves on this,” she said.
