Lou Dobbs’ fiery take on Trump’s debt deal with Dems — it’s all about that ‘hapless fool’ Paul Ryan

Fox Business’s Lou Dobbs celebrated the news that President Trump cut a deal with Democrats and kicked “hapless fool” Paul Ryan to the curb.

Trump’s surprise deal with Democratic lawmakers Wednesday on a spending resolution and raising the debt-ceiling may have triggered the GOP establishment, but Dobbs, a staunch Trump supporter, took the opportunity to trash the House Speaker in his monologue.

“A few thoughts now on the death of a RINO,” Dobbs began on Wednesday’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” referring to Ryan as a “Republican In Name Only.”

Dobbs then slammed the House speaker’s “obsequious deference to corporate lobbyists and unbridled hostility toward President Trump.”

“President Trump not only took RINO Ryan to the woodshed, but eliminated any need for any Republican to ever pretend again that Ryan is a real Republican or that any RINO has a political future after Mr. Trump simply booted the hapless fool of a speaker out of the way of those trying to get the nation’s business done,” he said.

Ouch.

Dobbs played a video clip of “clueless Ryan” criticizing a proposal from Democrats that sought to tie aid for Hurricane Harvey victims to a three-month increase in the debt ceiling. The speaker called it a “ridiculous idea,” slamming Democrats for “playing politics.”

Trump’s acceptance of the deal from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other top congressional Democrats, Dobbs pointed out, was simply a “deal done” and further exposed Ryan.

“Contrast Ryan’s inane insults, his obstinance and subversion of President Trump to the behavior and the rhetoric of the Democratic leadership of late,” Dobbs said. “They’ve calmed themselves. They’ve been far more conciliatory in their rhetoric over recent weeks.”

He concluded that Ryan has been “fully exposed” while he has accomplished “next to nothing” as Speaker of the House, and has been an “immense obstacle to getting the people’s business done.”

“Mark my words,” Dobbs said. “RINO’s are over.”

The conservative host took to Twitter to share his on-air commentary, noting that Trump’s  “deal w/ the Dems renders Do-nothing Paul Ryan completely obsolete.”

Twitter users, it seemed, gave Dobbs a virtual standing ovation.
