He had a case of the sads Thursday.
While Democrats are announcing nationwide “Impeach Marches”– with loony Rep. Maxine Waters leading the charge — liberal filmmaker Michael Moore saw the handwriting on the wall, and it appeared to say, “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.”
His gloomy demeanor was in response to the announcement this week that former FBI Director Robert Mueller was appointed special counsel to investigate the Donald Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with the Kremlin.
While Democrats cheered this change of events, Mueller’s appointment also created a whole new ball game, according to Moore, one which will sadly entail time-consuming things like due process.
He laid it all out in a series of tweets — 140 characters at a time — beginning with an observation that those celebrating Trump’s early departure from the White House are the same ones as those who prematurely celebrated Hillary Clinton’s victory last year.

The same well-meaning souls who were throwing an early victory party for Hillary are now celebrating Trump’s removal. Caution.

He then told news outlets that despite Mueller’s official title as special counsel, his function will be that of prosecutor.
Note to Media: The term is Special PROSECUTOR not Special “Counsel.” No one is being “counseled” here. Mueller is not offering his “counsel”
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) May 18, 2017
Special PROSECUTOR Mueller is investigating high crimes and treason. He has full prosecutorial powers. He is not “counseling” anyone. Stop.
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) May 18, 2017
And Mueller’s appointment — whether as special prosecutor or special counsel — means that now procedural rules have to be applied.
The investigation’ll require work, many witnesses, possible grand jury, due process 4 Trump & public hearings. This aint happening next week
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) May 18, 2017
And then there’s the issue of the president himself. Moore gave “Teflon Don” powers to Trump, previously attributed only to mobster John Gotti.
And then there’s the psychosuperhero called Trump. He wins every battle even when he loses.NOTHING touches him. Suddenly that’s gonna change?
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) May 18, 2017
Actually, “Teflon Don” is a term that would be more accurately describe Clinton. Although her ethical and legal issues may have contributed to denying her the presidency, she was also able to skirt past problems with the law.
Occasional filmmaker Moore ended with a ray of hope — or at least a call to continue resisting the president whenever possible.
The Resistance must NOT let up.He wont go easily. NOW: 1) Mass action 2) Court action 3) U run in 18 4) Army of satire 2 rattle/distract him
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) May 18, 2017
While Moore offered his thoughts on Twitter, California Democrat Maxine Waters was explaining to MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” panel that it was the Russians — not Trump — who came up with the phrases “crooked Hillary” and “lock her up.”
And Moore calls Trump crazy.
