‘That’s sad, Ted’: Sean responds to Ted Koppel telling him to his face, ‘Hannity is bad for America’

Ted Koppel believes he has pinpointed the biggest danger to America.

No, it isn’t the Islamic State, sky-high debt, a failing healthcare system or even, the left’s favorite culprit, climate change.

The legendary journalist says that it is Fox News’ Sean Hannity that is “bad for America.”

“We have to give some credit to the American people that they are somewhat intelligent and that they know the difference between an opinion show and a news show,” Hannity told Koppel during an interview for the veteran reporter’s Sunday piece on the political divide in the nation.

“You think we’re bad for America? You think I’m bad for America?”

“Yep,” Koppel replied. “In the long haul, I think that all these opinion shows…”

“Really?” the Fox News host asked. “That’s sad, Ted.”

“You know why?” Koppel said. “Because you’re very good at what you did and because you have attracted … people who have determined that ideology is more important than facts.”

It is fair to assume Koppel is not a fan of Fox as this piece came a year after an interview he had with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly in which he said the host “ruined journalism.”
