“Morning Joe” is joining the chorus of liberal media personalities piling on Stephen Bannon.
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough warned the Trump chief strategist Friday that his opinion that media outlets should close their mouths and listen on occasion would turn out badly for the White House.

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while,” he told The New York Times in a telephone interview.
CNN’s Jake Tapper responded with a smug, one-word “no,” without mentioning the second half of Bannon’s statement.
“I want you to quote this,” Bannon added. “The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”
Scarborough called Bannon’s remarks “so inflammatory and disturbing that I have almost no doubt that it was made to provoke us.”
Then he predicted that the White House would come out the loser in any war between it and the media.
“This will end very very badly,” the “Morning Joe” host said. “Taking on the press like that, it always ends badly. The press always wins. Washington always wins. You figure out how to work with them or you’re going to get crushed.”
Scarborough was so proud of his rhetoric he posted it on Twitter:
1. Washington always wins in the end
2. The press always has the last wordWorld without end, Amen. https://t.co/JnQqCio6Aa

Scarborough managed to tick off just about everyone with that haughty thought, and Twitter users weren’t holding back:

OK, not a Trump fan, but definitely not a media fan either.

The mainstream media lost last time, which places the winner of this feud in serious doubt.
@JoeNBC @laragoza1 The press may have had the 'last word' in the past, but its a new dawn & a new day! The NWO pawns won't win this time!???
