Khans are so good at bashing Trump, they’re about to receive a ‘justice’ award

Khizr Khan and wife Ghazala Khan are scheduled to be honored later this month by the Arab American Civil Rights League — essentially for criticizing Donald Trump at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Khizr Khan blasted Trump at the July event for his proposal to temporarily halt Muslim immigration until we can get a handle on the problem of Islamic terrorism — especially in light of the woes facing Europe.

In response, both Khans will receive the group’s group’s fifth annual “Fight for Justice award” at its gala in Dearborn, the Detroit Free Press reported.

The event will be held on Thursday, September 29, according to the Arab American Civil Rights League’s Facebook page.

The Khans are Gold Star parents who immigrated to the United States from Pakistan. Their son, Army Capt. Humayun Khan, 27, was killed in Iraq in 2004 by a suicide bomber.

At his DNC speech, Khan claimed that under Trump’s proposal, they could never have come to the United States, and holding up a pocket edition of the U.S. Constitution, he asked if the Republican presidential nominee had ever read it.

It was for that speech that the Khans are being honored.

“We wanted to honor them because their son gave the ultimate sacrifice, dying for his country. We hear all the election rhetoric and ridiculous comments going on about Muslim Americans, presidential candidates talking about excluding Muslim Americans from this country,” Nabih Ayad, an attorney who founded the league, said last month, according to the Free Press.

“He’s speaking out against the bigotry and hate that has clouded a lot of our mainstream political discussion.”

This is turning out to be some election. Blast Trump and you get an award; criticize Hillary Clinton and you’re labeled a misogynist.
