Giuliani proves he’s a man of many hats; shocks crowd with new take on Trump’s slogan

Donald Trump has become famous during this campaign for his “Make America Great Again” hat not to mention wagging his finger at Mexico for sending so many illegal immigrants our way. But after Trump’s visit with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, Trump backer Rudy Giuliani wore a shocking hat that has to be seen to be believed.

During a rally that came on the heels of Trump’s well received visit with Mexico’s president, Rudy took the stage wearing a hat that had “Make Mexico Great Again Also” written on it. And he wore the hat as he introduced Donald Trump!

The former New York Mayor has been a staple at recent Trump rallies serving as the warm up act before Trump bounds up on stage. But this time, at the rally in Phoenix, Rudy had a strange message that may have caused some Trump supporters to end up in confusion.

Clearly the hat was the Trump campaign’s statement that he did not intend to be a president who would antagonize every ally and that he intended to make sure our hemisphere stayed on top. This was a message from Trump saying that he understands what diplomacy means and coming off his highly successful visit with Mexico’s president it signals a serious turn of his campaign.

Yet, showing that he is still the America-first candidate, Trump also delivered a sweeping speech on immigration with the theme that immigration policy must have at its heart the idea that the well-being of Americans must come first.

But Rudy’s hat got a lot of attention. Naturally Twitter went crazy…

Rudy Giuliani wasn’t the only notable to wear the “Make Mexico Great Again Also” hat. Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions also donned the hat as he took the stage at the rally.

But all this doesn’t mean that Trump has turned soft on Mexico, either. Immediately after his visit with the Mexican president Trump slammed NAFTA while still holding out a hand to Mexico.

“NAFTA is a 22 year old agreement that must be updated to reflect the realities of today. There are many improvements that could be made that would make both Mexico and the United States stronger and keep industry in our hemisphere,” the Daily Caller noted. Trump added, “When jobs leave Mexico, the U.S. or Central America and go over seas, it increases poverty and pressure on social services as well as pressures on cross border migration. Tremendous pressure. The bond between our two countries is deep and sincere. And both our nations benefit from a close and honest relationship between our two governments.”

He went on saying, “A strong prosperous and vibrant Mexico is in the best interest of the United States and will keep and help keep, for a long, long period of time, America together. Both of our countries will work together for mutual good, and most importantly for the mutual good of our people.”
