It appears the Second Amendment isn’t the only amendment that Hillary Clinton doesn’t like.
An email sent from her campaign on Thursday made it clear that, if elected, an assault on the First Amendment would be a part of a Clinton presidency.
Following this week’s announcement that Republican nominee Donald Trump hired Breitbart News Chairman Stephen Bannon as the CEO of his campaign, the Hillary team sent out an ominous warning in the form of a fundraising email.
“We’ve had a conservative media in this country for a while,” the email, sent by deputy communications director Christina Reynolds, read. “I don’t always like what they have to say, but I respect their role and their right to exist.”
Isn’t that nice of her? She acknowledges that we have a “right to exist.”
So, which media don’t have the right to exist Ms. Reynolds?
“Breitbart is something different,” she wrote. “They make Fox News look like a Democratic Party pamphlet. They’re a different breed altogether — not just conservative but radical, bigoted, anti-Muslim, anti-Semitic conspiracy peddlers who never have been and never should be anywhere near the levers of power in this country.”
Reynolds went on to state that destroying Breitbart is one of the goals of the Clinton campaign, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Apparently the stranglehold the left has on the mainstream media isn’t enough for them.
And there is no mention in her email of the campaign’s intention to destroy far left smear merchants like Salon, Mother Jones, MoveOn or Media Matters, nor should there be.
Freedom of speech and of the press is a fundamental founding principal of America.
And for the past seven and a half years what we have had in the mainstream press resembles more of a state-run media than the check on all of government, from either party, that it is supposed to be.
And now the communications director of the Democrat presidential nominee has issued a threat to take out a news organization that it deems to be an enemy, like every despot in history has done.
And whether you are a Democrat, Republican or independent that ought to frighten you.
