‘Brexit’ leader trashes Obama during RNC visit – thanks for helping us win

After President Obama campaigned for the British people to remain in the European Union (EU), “Brexit” leader Nigel Farage is now saying thank you to his adversary.

Farage, who led the fight to leave the EU, which they ultimately won, thanked Obama today while in Cleveland, Ohio, for the Republican National Convention (RNC) for helping his cause during Brexit.

“I think it’s a big mistake for foreign politicians to tell people how to vote and how to think, and I’ll tell you why I say that,” Farage said.

“Obama, came the United Kingdom during the Brexit debate and actually, I’ll always be eternally grateful to Obama because he came to our country, proved to us, told us what we should do and he led to a big Brexit bounce, several points,” he added.

“So thank you, Obama, for helping us win this referendum,” said Farage.

Unlike Obama, Donald Trump visited the UK before the Brexit vote and predicted that the British people would vote to leave the EU to have full control over their country’s laws again.

In Trump fashion, he was right.
