Hillary gets in the mud against Trump over hyped ‘star’ meme, but he has something to say about that

Presumed GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump got himself in a bit of hot water recently when he posted an anti-Hillary graphic on Twitter that featured a Star of David shape on it. Many called the image anti-Semitic and Trump deleted the Tweet. Now Hillary Clinton is pushing back and getting down in the mud over the posting.

On Saturday as the Independence Day weekend began, Donald Trump tweeted out a graphic that featured the star shape over which was written “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!.” Behind the star was a carpet of money and a large photo of Hillary. Trump titled his Tweet “Crooked Hillary – – Makes History!”

But many criticized Trump’s tweet saying that the star shape combined with the carpet of money raised the “money grubbing Jew” stereotype. This even despite the fact that Hillary is not Jewish.

Trump said that he felt the star shape was a “sheriff’s star,” not a Jewish Star of David, but as pressure mounted he deleted the tweet.

By Monday, Hillary’s campaign was jumping in on the controversy attacking Trump for the graphic he tweeted over the weekend.

“Donald Trump’s use of a blatantly anti-Semitic image from racist websites to promote his campaign would be disturbing enough, but the fact that it’s a part of a pattern should give voters major cause for concern. Now, not only won’t he apologize for it, he’s peddling lies and blaming others,” said Sarah Bard, Clinton’s director of Jewish outreach.

Trump didn’t let that go unanswered and immediately posted a reply to his campaign website calling Hillary’s attack on his deleted tweet just another example of a Hillary lie.

These false attacks by Hillary Clinton trying to link the Star of David with a basic star, often used by sheriffs who deal with criminals and criminal behavior, (showing an inscription that says “Crooked Hillary is the most corrupt candidate ever”) with anti-Semitism is ridiculous. Clinton, through her surrogates, is just trying to divert attention from the dishonest behavior of herself and her husband. The real questions are, why was Bill Clinton meeting secretly with the US Attorney General on her case and where are the 33,000 missing emails and all of the other information missing from her case – Why are there so many lies?

Critics, though, have countered that if Trump felt the graphic was not offensive, why did he delete it at all?

Also, on Tuesday, Dan Scavino, Trump’s social media director, put out an additional statement explaining the original decision to post the Tweet:
