Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey was excited to tell fans the good news that he and his wife were expecting a new baby. But even as the news later turned tragic, Ramsey’s message to fans was a wonderful mark of the sort of person he is.
Only a month ago the “Hell’s Kitchen” TV show host and chef took to his Facebook page to deliver the wonderful news that he and his wife of 20 years, Tana, were expecting their fifth child.
Ramsey also appeared on “The Late, Late Show With James Corden” to share his joy.
As IJReview notes, during the “Late, Late Show” Ramsey insisted he was a bit nervous about the impending birth saying, “I’m nervous [about a fourth girl]. Obviously, I’m happy with another girl. Four girls. Four weddings. Four Sweet 16s. Four boyfriends.”
Sadly, the birth was not to be as Ramsey has just let fans know that Tana has suffered a miscarriage. The famed chef also said the five-month-old fetus was a boy.
Ramsey announced the loss on Facebook.
His heartfelt message reveals the couple’s anguish.
Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks. We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months. We’re together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes. I’d especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they’ve done. Gx
