When a Virginia man bit into his McDonald’s cheeseburger he got a taste of some cold, hard cash.

Dave Cook visited a Chesterfield County McDonald’s and ordered a cheeseburger, but what he thought was just an average day of eating fast-food turned out to be a big surprise, according to WTVR.

“I was like what is this?” Cook said. “A $20 bill in my cheeseburger!”

“I’ve heard of people finding strange things in their salad, but never finding something like this a cooked burger.  I was in disbelief, I was like ‘is this for real?’”

Cook said two other customers nearby saw the incident and began checking their burgers for cash too, but neither were in luck.

Originally, Cook said he didn’t tell the McDonald’s about the mishap because he wanted to keep the $20 bill, but now says he will return the money if somebody claims it.

The McDonald’s said they were “surprised to hear about Cook’s discovery,” and reported the incident to corporate offices, according to WTVR.

Stories about items found in fast food have been going viral for as long as the Internet has existed.

Some of them are even true.

We’ll report, you decide.
