Trump takes own survey: What Fox News said to push him over edge

Fox News Channel replied with a sarcastic response to a poll posted by Donald Trump to his Twitter page Tuesday in which he asked his followers if he should attend Fox News’ Republican presidential debate Tuesday.

“We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings,” the statement read.

It was this response that caused Trump to decide to back out of the debate before the results of his poll were even in.

After a Trump spokesman confirmed to CNN that Trump wouldn’t be making the debate, Fox released another scathing statement blasting Trump for threatening debate moderator Megyn Kelly.

Meanwhile, Trump’s closest contender Ted Cruz has challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate where he promised Kelly wouldn’t be one of the moderators.

“Rupert Murdoch Has Been Against Trump From The Beginning”.

BOB BECKEL: Just remember that Fox did buckle to Trump in another debate. Rupert Murdoch has been against Trump from the beginng. In the beginning he came out against Trump. Now he says who wants to meet one one-on-one with somebody, a CEO to CEO. The other thing is, I may be dead wrong about this but I’ve known Roger Ailes for 35 years. That did not sound to me like a Roger Ailes tweet. That doesn’t mean who didn’t approve it. Somebody doesn’t go out there and just let that go or they’re going to find them services on the street the next day. That sounded to me like it was written by somebody else.

Fox is playing a silly game, and I think it is backfiring badly for them. Whether Trump is right or wrong in this makes no difference – Fox is being bull-headed, stubborn and malicious with this bully tactic, and the result is like any other bully: “Play by my rules, or you don’t play at all.”

Well, I’m not using the TV much for new anymore anyway – you cannot comment on the TV-produced articles like you can on the Internet.

Trump is playing the game. wake up

      1. John Campbell says:

And winning for the very reasons that Sunshine Kid explained in detail.

True. But FNC is too. That 3rd grade tweet and letter is admission they are participating.

Brietbart news brother. Truth Revolt which is part of Brietbart. CNS News and. MRC are also great outlets. And Mark Levin is the man. You’ll learn more off his show than any of these networks or pseudo journalists.

    3. Mawgscousin says:

Today Fox looks stupid. Trump out FOXED Fox. Smart move.

This is ridiculous, really second grade and it’s time the adults stand up and tell Trump to pack his bags and go home. For all of you out there who support Trump no matter what, you are turning your backs on the country and allowing this nonsense to continue. The name calling isn’t funny anymore and the entire New York stich is really getting worn out.

    1. Mawgscousin says:

I thought the same way. Listen to what Limbaughs take is on this whole thing. It is very interesting. FNC are no angels either. And you can bet they were ready for bear with him. Trump has redefined the debate process. Let’s face it, these aren’t debates in the true sense. If you read up on the Lincoln -Douglas debates, those were substantive in nature. The media have become part of this because they have injected themselves into the event. Who says it has to be see networks and these moderators and the rest of us go along? The Establsihment is saying that’s the way it is and you don’t get to pick your network or moderators and Trump just threw cold water on the whole thing. You know why Fox is bending over backwards? It has nothing to do about the country, patriotism or you or me. It’s about the ability to charge $750,000 a minute with him at the debates versus $150,000 without him there. That’s why they are sorry. And to play devils advocate look at what Rinse Preibus and the RNC did by cancelling the debate with NBC. Didn’t they do the same thing? They eliminated an entire network. And there is no cry foul there except for the network. As much as Trump seems to be taking his marbles and going home, take a second look. What more is going to be covered tonight? There have been 6 debates. Some have been like cage matches and the things you want to hear about weren’t discussed becuase it got turned into a variety show partly by the moderators. Round 2 with Kelly, Wallace and Baier would be no different than Round 1. He hurt them in the pocketbook. And he is a gambler. He is up ahead by a few points in Iowa if you can believe the pols so either he will run out the clock to victory or he fumbles in the waning moments and Cruz wins. It’s a big, we shall see. And the results of Iowa will also speak to these debates and whether they are valid or just a side show and voters make up their minds anyway.

  6. GailWehling says:

If those were real debates, it would be one thing but they are not. They have had far too many of the things and they are nothing but a show for the media. The whole system needs to change.

    1. Mawgscousin says:

You get it! Well said. They are a side show.

  7. Mawgscousin says:

There will be a ghost on the stage tonight and it will drive FNC nuts behind the scenes. Trumps event already promises to be an attention getter and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets at least half if not more attendance than the debates. He played FNC like a Stradivarius and they will lose millions in ad revenue tonight because of his absence. Definitely hit back where it hurts. The Iowa caucus will validate whether his gamble paid off or Iowans will hold it against him. But having an event fork the Veterans and raising millions is tough to use when its intention benefits those who fight for us. Smart strategy and great to see the media get a thumb in the eye.

  8. Mario Manuel says:

Trump’s my man among the GOPs…. he’s a 100% liberal inside and just wearing a conservative cloak for this election season 🙂

  9. Tiger says:

If ever someone did themselves in FOX is the prime example.
