Former “Today Show” host Matt Lauer has been officially removed from the program, but he is still reportedly sending suggestions to the show’s staff on how to improve the show.

He has been sending unsolicited messages to producers after watching the latest episodes from home, according to a New York Post report. One unnamed source said that Lauer messaged a Today Show producer, saying they should have used different music to open one of their segments. An NBC spokesman declined to comment on the story when contacted by the NY Post.

Lauer was dismissed in November over allegations of sexual assault and harassment. Several women accused him of being sexually inappropriate on the job, and he said he felt ashamed for dishonoring NBC.

“Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I’m committed to beginning that effort,” Lauer said in a statement,

Lauer was permanently replaced on “TODAY” by Hoda Kotb Wednesday, who has been a correspondent for “Dateline NBC” since 1998 and has co-hosted the fourth hour of the Today Show with Kathie Lee Gifford.
