President Trump removed James Comey as Director of the FBI on Tuesday, leaving many speculating who will be chosen to lead the bureau going forward.
Fox & Friends made things interesting Wednesday morning when they mentioned a few names Trump may choose, but two names in particular caught a lot of attention.
While Ainsley Earhardt was interviewing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke’s name came up.

“We have Ray Kelly on the list, Chris Christie, David Clarke, Trey Gowdy, Rudy Giuliani and then John Pistole,” read Earhardt while asking Newt who he liked. “Or do you think maybe Rod Rosenstein should talk to the president and then they come up with someone who is more neutral.”
Clarke’s name also appeared in a Reuters report on Tuesday listing several names of potential replacements.
The conservative firebrand has not only been one of Donald Trump’s longest supporters, but he has also garnered a “tough on crime” reputation that many want to see at the FBI.
Trump even considered appointing Clarke for Secretary of Homeland Security during his campaign transition back in 2016.
Another name gaining a lot of attention and support is Rep. Trey Gowdy.
Gowdy has a proven track record of fighting for liberty, freedom, and the pursuit of justice. He earned the respect of millions of Americans after he spent years working to hold Hillary Clinton accountable for her actions (or lack of action) during the Benghazi terrorist attacks and aimed to expose many of Barack Obama’s failed policies.
It seems as if many across social media are torn between Sheriff Clark or Trey Gowdy to become the next Director of the FBI.
