The sun rose on Wednesday morning and, just as predictably, leftist filmmaker Michael Moore was sharply critical of President Trump’s recognition of Carryn Owens, the widow of slain U.S. Special Ops serviceman Ryan Owens.
In an appearance on MSNBC’s Hardball on Wednesday, Moore told host Chris Matthews that Owens was at the speech “as sort of an ‘f-you’ to the people who are criticizing him for this [the Yemen raid]. And this poor woman, this widow who has lost her husband, she is in desperate grief right now.”

“And to use that to put another notch on his belt,” Moore continued, “and what is he thinking about? ‘My ratings. Record Applause. I’m going to get an Emmy for this, most applause for a dead soldier on my watch!’ This is the sickness of this man.”
As if Michael Moore has the wherewithal to know exactly what is going on in anyone’s heart, much less Donald Trump’s.
Taya Kyle, widow of “American Sniper” Chris Kyle, appeared on Fox News’ The First 100 Days on Wednesday to address Moore’s criticisms.
“You ask about my feelings about what Michael Moore said,” Kyle told host Martha MacCallum. “It makes me sick to my stomach. It makes me angry, because he’s saying two things when he says that. A, she’s a fool and doesn’t know she’s being used and that’s ridiculous and couldn’t be farther from the truth. And it’s also saying that this wasn’t warranted and that in some way this has to be political.”
Kyle reasoned that those who are saying it’s a political ploy “totally negates the meaning behind this. And the meaning of it – for all the people watching who cried with her – is that some valiant people are out there fighting, not for Republicans, not for Democrats. They’re fighting for this country. And God bless them for doing it.”
Calling Owens anything but a “pawn” or “poor widow,” Kyle called her “strong.”
“She’s lived a life where she had to be strong. And this is another step in her journey of being stronger than she wants to be.”
