‘Like a scene out of a Batman movie’: Critics rip Mamdani’s ‘freak show’ news conference

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was scorched by social media users for his participation in a “freak show” of a press conference that featured a masked housing activist’s wild claim that evictions are violence.

Hizzoner is well on the way to turning the Big Apple into a socialist dystopia just over half a year into his first term and has emerged as the leader of the increasingly aggressive left-wing “communist” movement that looks to expand upon its foothold in the Democratic Party.

During the Thursday presser highlighting the release of the city’s new Rental Ripoff Report, Mamdani turned the podium over to activist Antonia Marrero, whose wearing of a face diaper years after the height of the COVID pandemic was even more bizarre than her remarks.

“Our city is turning the corner on tenant power. When we organize, we win results. The Mamdani administration is emboldening us so we no longer tolerate the violence of evictions as a matter of business as usual,” said Marrero, who’s a member of the Housing Organizers for People Empowerment (HOPE) Tenant Union, as Mamdani stood in the background with a wicked grin.

It’s typical leftist gaslighting to brand anything they dislike as “violence,” and it now extends to landlords tossing out tenants for not paying their rent.

The surreal scene was ripped as a “freak show” by X users, with some likening Mamdani’s Gotham to the fictitious city of a certain caped crusader.

“This looks like a scene out of a Batman movie,” quipped the Heritage Foundation’s Mike Gonzalez.

“Theater of the absurd,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a post to X, sharing video of the masked weirdo’s remarks.

“Freak show,” wrote another user, perfectly describing the scene.

“Nobody will survive the tyranny of the DSA goblins,” wrote Republican NYC councilwoman Vickie Paladino.

More reactions:

“We will partner with organized tenants across the city to deliver the accountability they deserve from their landlords, and in certain cases, to support the successful transfer of their buildings to more responsible owners,” the mayor said, a statement that would do Karl Marx proud.
