A New York lawmaker wasn’t done calling out “disgraceful” Democrats supporting deadly sanctuary policies after a fiery committee exchange, assuring “you can quote” him on an expletive label.
Tuesday on Capitol Hill, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement gathered for a hearing on victims’ perspectives on sanctuary policies. A dispute between New York Rep. Mike Lawler (R) and Democratic Reps. Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Pramila Jayapal of Washington during the introduction boiled over with the former labeling the others “f*cking a**holes.”
Ranking member Jayapal and Raskin had both interrupted Lawler during his introduction of his constituent Jessica Gorman, the mother of slain University of Loyola student Sheridan Gorman, insisting he was making a speech instead.
Asked about the heated incident by TMZ’s Jacob Wasserman, the congressman explained, “First of all, if you heard the opening statements of Pramila Jayapal and Jamie Raskin, it was absolutely outrageous. It was disgusting. And it insulted those angel families that were sitting there. As Jessica Gorman just said in her testimony, they said, ‘We’re sorry for your loss, but –,’ there’s no but. Sanctuary policies are the reason their daughter is dead.”

“How anybody can support allowing criminal aliens to stay in this country, prohibiting local and state law enforcement from cooperating with federal officials, is beyond measure. And for those folks that were rightly outraged at the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti,” he continued as both had been invoked during the hearing, “they should be equally outraged at the deaths of Sheridan Gorman and Laken Riley. I’m sorry, my Democratic colleagues are not. They are not outraged by their deaths, and that is the fundamental problem here. And frankly, Jamie Raskin and Pramila Jayapal are f*cking a**holes. Their conduct in that hearing was disgraceful.”
While giving his introduction, Lawler recounted details of Sheridan Gorman’s murder in March, allegedly committed by Jose Medina-Medina, an illegal alien released into the country during the Biden administration. Faulting sanctuary policies, he said, “…places like New York and Chicago blatantly disregard existing law and provide safe harbor to criminals.”
Jayapal interrupted, “Point of order, this is not an introduction, this is a speech.”
Moments later, Raskin echoed the same, leading Lawler to respond, “You all should be ashamed of yourselves. This is disgraceful. We have a mother who is here precisely because you have failed to do your job. You wonder why we had four hearings? It’s because you don’t understand the consequence of sanctuary policy.”

Before departing the hearing, Lawler went on to label Raskin a “disgrace” as the Maryland lawmaker shouted, “You don’t belong on this committee, you should get the hell out of here!”
Meanwhile, in her opening remarks, Jayapal lamented hearing from the family members of victims of sanctuary policies as it was the “fourth time in this committee that we’ve had a hearing on sanctuary cities… There’s many other things that we could be doing.”

Before getting on an elevator and ending remarks to Wasserman, Lawler invoked New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) and added her to his list as a “complete a**hole” over her policies. The congressman assured “you can quote” him on those labels as he was asked about turning down the temperature, while he further ripped the Democrats for blocking funding for the Department of Homeland Security and obstructing federal law enforcement from upholding national sovereignty.
