Film director and New York Knicks superfan Spike Lee demanded that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents stay away from the victory parade if the team wins the NBA championship.
Gotham’s professional basketball team has a chance to bring home the hardware for the first time in more than half a century if it can win two more games against the San Antonio Spurs, a result that would set off a wild celebration in a city overflowing with illegal aliens.
During a recent interview with the “black-led” media platform Andscape, the “Do The Right Thing” director described what he envisioned a Knicks championship parade would be like.

“It’s going to be a love fest,” Lee said, “and people gonna be hugging and kissing each other, total strangers,” he told Bill C. Rhoden. “You know what? But we’re New Yorkers. That’s the bomb. I’m telling you, it’s going to happen. This is going to happen.”
The race-obsessed director later said that ICE was unwelcome in his typical f-bomb-laden manner.
“When we win, whether it’s home or away, there’s gonna be such a – it’s gonna be bananas,” Lee predicted. “It’s gonna be craziness, it’s gonna be love, and NYPD can’t control that. “The Marines, National Guard– just don’t bring in the motherf**king ICE. No ICE. I’ve said this more than once. ICE is not welcome.”
Border Czar Tom Homan recently said that he planned to put “more ICE agents than you’ve ever seen in New York City,” and some might suggest that agents could bag their limit of illegals at a potential Knicks victory parade.
At the time of Lee’s remarks, the Knicks were up 2-0 and heading for a potential sweep of their Western Conference rivals before losing a Monday night nail-biter 115-111 at Madison Square Garden in a game attended by President Donald J. Trump, who’s a native New Yorker and another longtime Knicks fan.
At Monday’s game, the director appeared to troll Trump by wearing a customized Knicks jersey with Pope Leo’s name on the back.

Trump has repeatedly slammed the Supreme Pontiff over what he seems to feel is an unwelcome intrusion into politics, especially when it comes to the war in Iran.
Lee was among those who criticized the president for taking part in the action, suggesting that his presence was disruptive.
“I can’t speak for all disciples. But, I just find it strange that this had to happen now,” he said, according to the Daily Beast. “You’ve got to get there two hours early. I mean… It’s taking the focus off. We haven’t won [a championship] since 1973! It should be about the game tonight.”
The Knicks can get one step closer to holding their victory parade if they can rebound on Wednesday when they tip off against the Spurs in game four of the NBA title series.
