‘Make it make sense!’ Distraught young mother’s economic plight hits a nerve

A distraught young mother’s plight is renewing righteous anger over a system that doesn’t appear to support middle-class American taxpayers, and as in this case, works against them.

In the video, the young woman explains that her daughter needs medical attention, but on her $60,000 salary, she can’t afford it and can’t get government assistance because she makes too much.

“I feel only in America can you need medical assistance that you can’t afford to get, and in order to get government help, you have to make under a certain amount,” she began.

“So if you’re someone who makes $60,000 a year, you don’t qualify for any f**king help, but you can’t actually afford to get your child any f**king help…

“But if I quit my job and I go work at McDonald’s, I can live off the government, and then she can have the help that she needs?

“Make it make sense. Make it make sense!”

Tragically, this is a far-too-common predicament, and as many who responded to the story pointed out, it’s likely by design.

As former federal US nuclear scientist and conservative influencer Matt Van Swol pointed out: “The system we built to help people escape poverty is actively punishing the people trying to escape poverty.”
