Widow of slain FDNY fire chief delivers smackdown of Biden over flippant ‘doing 9/11’ remark

President Joe Biden’s recent foot-in-mouth episode landed him in scalding hot water with the widow of a fire chief killed during the September 11 terrorist attack.

Joanne Barbara spoke during the 9/11 anniversary ceremony, where she called out Biden’s “flippant” attitude about the event and recalled how the Biden-Harris administration very nearly allowed the terrorists who perpetrated the deadliest attack on American soil to receive a plea deal.

“My husband Jerry was a Navy veteran and a member of the FDNY for 31 years. On September 11th, 2001, 2977 innocent people were murdered by radical Islamic terrorists. My husband of 30 years was one of them,” she said. “It is outrageous that our government would ever entertain the thought of granting the terrorists a plea deal. If not for the outcry of the 9/11 community who knows what might have transpired? It was 23 years and the families deserve justice and accountability.”

“The elected officials here today show their respect and reverence to the families on September 11th. Or in the president’s words, ‘do 9/11,’ quite a flippant remark. But please remember that the September 11th families live it every day, not just at the anniversary. In conclusion, may God bless those battling post-September 11th illnesses, our first responders, and the military here and abroad. May God America bless and never forget.”

The classy verbal smackdown comes as the result of Biden’s decision to refer to attending the solemn 9/11 anniversary event, which includes a reading of the names of those who perished on that fateful day, as “doing 9/11.”

“I’m going up to my granddaughter’s birthday in New York,” Biden said. “Then we’re gonna watch the debate, then tomorrow I’m doing 9/11.”
