In my new book, The War on Whites: How Hating White People Became the New National Sport, I describe the anti-white inquisition that is poisoning America. More evidence is piling up every day in support of the existence of anti-white racism.
Today’s installment involves a black elementary school teacher who resigned after her anti-white Twitter posts came to light. Her tweets threatened a white man’s life for spending time with her sister. “Come and kill him for me,” she tweeted. “I promise I’ll help you hide the body.” Another post said, “I enjoy being racist. I’m never changing.” Just the kind of person I want teaching my kids.
This is but one example of an epidemic. “Anti-white discrimination has become almost an institutional requirement,” said Lynn Uzzell in RealClearPolitics. “Schools and businesses seem fearful lest they are accused of not doing enough to stereotype, denigrate, marginalize, and suppress ‘whiteness.’”
People who deny the existence of the inquisition have challenged me to show examples where whites are suffering from racism. Racist government guidelines, such as Joe Biden’s executive order on equity, require the exclusion of whites from federal jobs. “Whites are under-represented in many important fields, such as government service and universities,” said Philip Carl Salzman in Minding the Campus. White women are being called “Karen,” a racist term that is the equivalent of the N-word—yet few people object. Heather Mac Donald, author of When Race Trumps Merit, found that blacks and Hispanics are promoted ahead of whites in the New York Police Department. And on and on.
When there is a confrontation between a white person and a black person, said author Ben Shapiro, the Left decrees that the white person must be at fault. “If you are a white person,” Shapiro said, “you have an obligation to be victimized.” Shapiro alluded to the case of Jordan Neely, a black man with a history of violence who threatened passengers on the New York City subway and was subdued by a white former Marine. Although he was acting in self-defense, the Marine was charged with manslaughter. “By virtue of his race,” said Shapiro, “Neely apparently had a right to threaten people on the subway.” By virtue of his race, the Marine was guilty.
In a piece that appeared in Newsweek on August 17, I described how, as a boy, I was often beaten up on the streets of my Brooklyn neighborhood simply because I was white. Proving Shapiro’s point, an irate reader said, “you either asked for it or you started it.” Another reader commented that, “your problems are minimal compared to what other races experienced”—as though racism against one group justifies racism against another.
“This is not just anti-white racism,” said Salzman, “it is also a racism of low expectations that replaces achievement, merit, and excellence with skin color, gender, sexuality, disability, and ethnicity. Apparently, the preferred categories of people, especially BIPOC, are not deemed capable of achieving high standards of learning and competence.” As a result, standards are being lowered and often eliminated completely.
Medical schools are lowering admission requirements to accommodate less qualified minorities. Airlines are basing pilot selection on race and gender rather than competence. Advanced courses in high schools are being canceled. Standardized tests are no longer required for admission to colleges and universities. Performance standards are being lowered in the police and military.
“This means that future engineers, doctors, airplane pilots, generals, and judges will not be able to do as good of a job as the meritorious candidates who were not selected,” said Salzman. “Was the new bridge you are about to drive over built by a ‘diversity’ engineer? Do you want to be operated on by a ‘diversity’ surgeon? How did the person flying your plane get in that seat?”
Perhaps the worst examples of anti-white racism are these: Diversity trainings held by major corporations and government agencies demand that intimidated white employees should “undo their whiteness” and “be less white.” Schools across the country are telling white students as young as five and six that they are evil oppressors of everyone else and should apologize for their skin color.
Can you imagine if black employees were told to undo their blackness and be less black? The riots would go on for weeks. It is perfectly acceptable, however, to inflict this kind of discrimination on whites.
“Is it wise to treat the majority unjustly, to vilify and exclude them?” asked Salzman. “Alienating the majority from the institutions of the country is a sign that the country is breaking down and that it faces ugly possibilities in the future.” Discrimination against whites is just as bad as discrimination against blacks or anyone else. It is time to declare that white people are victimized by racism. Remember: White is a color too!
