Ron DeSantis eviscerates Florida-obsessed Gavin Newsom in a packed California house

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called out his California counterpart, Gavin Newsom in his own backyard during a speech in which he noted that the state has been “hemorrhaging population” as residents flee the deteriorating left coast hellhole for the Sunshine State.

On Sunday, the rising Republican rock star spoke to an enthusiastic crowd who turned out at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley as DeSantis continued his tour to promote his new memoir in advance of a potential 2024 White House bid, with a trip directly into the heart of hostile territory.

“I know you guys got a lot of problems out here, but your governor is very concerned about what we’re doing in Florida, so I figured I had to come by,” he said, jabbing Newsom who has repeatedly attacked him and is currently drawing criticism for his disappearing act for leaving the state for “personal travel” after he declared an emergency as a massive snowstorm hit, dumping up to 17 feet of snow in some areas.

DeSantis also paid tribute to the building’s iconic namesake Ronald Reagan, the beloved former president and California governor whom he said was an inspiration to him.

The governor said that Reagan “understood the vital role that government had to play” and knew how it could be a “negative force if not applied properly,” telling the audience that that understanding served as guidance for his leadership during the COVID pandemic when he kept Florida free while Newsom and other authoritarian Democrats ran roughshod over their citizens’ rights with lockdowns and mask mandates that destroyed lives and businesses.

“And I think if you look over the last four or five years, and you look at the performances of individual states, and you compare Florida versus California, New York, Illinois, some of those other states, we have had a great experiment, a great test in governing philosophies,” DeSantis said. “Because, of course, you know, we approach things much differently in Florida than you guys have out here, much differently in Florida than they’ve done in New York and in Illinois.”

“And if you look over the last four years, we’ve witnessed a great American exodus from states governed by leftist politicians imposing leftist ideology and delivering poor results, and you’ve seen massive gains in states like Florida, who are governing according to the tried and true principles that President Reagan held dear,” he added.

“From the beginning of this state’s history, all the way until the last four or five years, people beat a path to California. You didn’t beat a path away from California. And yet now, you see the state hemorrhaging population,” DeSantis said, pointing out that wise Californians have voted with their feet by fleeing the tyranny of Newsom and his one-party “woke” dictatorship.

In his remarks, DeSantis referred to Newsom’s California as a “biomedical security state” that caved to outside pressure on COVID and the political ideology of the left which fully embraced classical tenets of totalitarianism while downplaying science and data during the nation’s hellish COVID experience.

“And I can tell you, we had families move from the Pacific coast just for the fact that we had schools open in Florida, when you didn’t have them open in many other states,” DeSantis said. “We did things like ban vaccine passports in the state of Florida. States said, ‘You want to go stay in a hotel, go to a restaurant, you got to cough up your vax papers on these mRNA shots.’ And we said that’s none of their business. Everyone has a right to participate in society. That’s a personal choice that you make whether to take that or not, and we’re not going to let you be excluded.”

In addition to California, DeSantis also brought up another populous Democrat-controlled dystopia, New York, to make his point about the ruinous rule by Newsom and other Dem governors.

During the speech, DeSantis also turned to the social and cultural issues of the left’s relentless “woke” jihad on America which he has been enormously successful in rolling back in Florida which has served as an example for other states seeking to stamp out the “woke mind virus” that has become the new religion of  Democrats and their fellow leftists.

“I’m looking at them through the lens, not just a governor – but I’m looking at them through the lens of a dad and I believe parents in the state of Florida should be able to send their kids to elementary school without having an agenda jammed down their throats,” he said of the Florida parental rights law which the media has dishonestly tabbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

“They should not be teaching a second grader that they can choose their gender that is wrong. And that is not going to happen in the state of Florida,” DeSantis said to loud applause from the audience.

He also took a shot at entertainment colossus Disney, a company once known for its family-friendly fare but now specializes in churning out anti-white, sexually degenerate propaganda.

“And I know you have a company down the road in Burbank that had different ideas about that,” he said, referring to Disney’s corporate offices in a city that is a part of disgraced Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff’s congressional district. “But I can tell you this – they may have gotten everything they want in Florida for the last 60 years, but there’s a new sheriff in town now, and we are not backing down to that.’

Last week, DeSantis signed a law that revoked Disney’s special privilege by stripping the Reedy Creek Improvement District near Orlando where its sprawling theme parks are located of its special tax-exempt, self-governing status, the consequence of the corporate behemoth’s poorly thought-out decision to side with groomers and perverts over parents.

While DeSantis received a warm welcome from many, others weren’t pleased that he would venture onto their left-wing leader’s turf, including the malicious miscreants who vandalized the Reagan Library by spray-painting “Ron DeFascist” on the building’s entry sign prior to his arrival.

“A governor who leads by aggressively pursuing policies that defy the leftist ideology of the nation’s elites will face fire — not only by the legacy media but also from activist groups, Big Tech, and corporate America,” DeSantis wrote in his just-released book. “When I took strong stands against the prevailing narrative on draconian coronavirus policies, I may have been vilified by the usual suspects, but I was able to save the livelihoods of millions of people throughout Florida.”
