Pennsylvania social workers will now be required to ask whether clients’ newborn babies are “non-binary” on new state forms that are required for providers to receive funding from a state agency according to a shocking new report that includes what are said to be actual screenshots of the data collection forms.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, providers are presented with the option of the additional field as an alternative to the two traditional genders which have existed since the dawn of humanity with the modern “woke” leftist option of an additional designation besides male or female.
“The state’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning, which funds health and social programs for young children, requires providers to report demographic information on their cases—including, since 2022, the gender identity of infants. Data collection forms for the agency now ask for newborns’ “gender” rather than their sex and allow providers to select male, female, or ‘Gender Non-Binary,” the outlet reported along with pictures of the purported screenshots.

The WFB emphasized, “Providers must fill out these forms to receive funding from the office.”
“I have to ask clients, ‘Is your 10-day-old male, female, or nonbinary?” A Pennsylvania social worker who works for one home-visiting program that is funded by the agency is cited by the outlet.
In response to a “detailed inquiry” to the Keystone State’s Department of Human Services, which houses the Office of Child Development from the Washington Free Beacon, the department downplayed the existence of the non-binary field.
“This is a field for data collection,” said the department’s communications director Ali Fogarty in an email to the outlet. “There is no directive or expectation that parents be verbally or explicitly asked if their children are nonbinary.”
The outlet quoted Manhattan Institute Leor Sapir who noted an observation that some European policies create more hesitance in professionals to affirm a child’s gender dysphoria to test whether it is a passing phase.
“The simplest explanation is that if you socially transition kids, most won’t come to terms with their body,” Sapir said. “That’s one reason why many European countries now embrace a policy of ‘watchful waiting,’ in which caregivers don’t affirm a child’s gender dysphoria until it has persisted for some time.”
The story noted that the state may be much more rapid to confirm gender dysphoria.
“Forms like Pennsylvania’s encourage the opposite approach,” Sapir added. “If social workers suggest to parents that young children can be nonbinary—or if they suggest that to children themselves—it could promote the culture of knee-jerk affirmation that’s been linked to gender dysphoria.”

Another former Pennsylvania official who was plucked for the national government by the diversity-obsessed Biden administration was in the news this week, transgender U.S Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine who was rewarded with a ceremonial designation as a four-star admiral after going to Washington D.C.

“Kids will be more likely to identify as nonbinary, she added, if the label is ‘legitimized, for them at a young age,” the Free Beacon reported.
