Spiritual guru once again considering presidential run says DNC ‘spitting in the face of democracy’

President Joe Biden has yet to formally announce his reelection bid but his first Democrat competitor could be very close to making her own as spiritual guru Marianne Williamson mulls a White House run against the deeply unpopular incumbent.

With progressives grumbling that Biden hasn’t been attentive enough to their pet issues as well as the obvious issues with his age, the buzz is building about a challenge from the left with the self-help author and former Democrat presidential candidate reportedly set to make an announcement on her political future.

Williamson jabbed Biden and the DNC establishment in an interview with Politico, suggesting that the party apparatus is “spitting in the face of democracy.”

“I’ll be making a statement this weekend,” she said when asked by the outlet whether she intended to mount a challenge against Biden and confirmed that she would “absolutely” run as a Democrat.

Williamson said, “Apparently Biden’s going to run on a message that the economy is getting stronger. I think that speaks to the disconnect between the analysis of party elites versus the struggle of everyday Americans.”

“We’re being asked to limit our political imaginations — to just accept the low unemployment and low inflation rate, that that is sort of the best that we can get,” she added. “But that is a hollow victory. The majority of Americans are still struggling to survive,”

The prospective candidate also expressed dismay that the DNC would effectively rig the process in Biden’s favor by voting to move the first primary to South Carolina, a state where Congressional Black Caucus kingmaker Rep. James Clyburn has enormous influence and where the large black demographic would unify behind the divisive race-baiter in chief.

“How can the Democratic Party present itself as a champion of democracy and do something as undemocratic as overtly engineering the primary schedule to make sure that their chosen candidate would win it?” Williamson asked. “That is spitting in the face of democracy.”

“I’m certainly not anti-science. I’m not anti-vax. I’m not the crystal lady. I didn’t tell people they got sick because they didn’t pray enough. Basically, I’m not stupid,” Williamson told Politico, rebutting those who have accused her of being an anti-vaxxer.

Williamson’s quirky 2020 run never really got off of the ground in a very crowded field and she dropped out prior to the Iowa caucuses which were just yanked from their priority position by Biden’s cronies at the DNC. She endorsed avowed socialist Bernie Sanders who had a big head of steam early in the process before he was derailed by Clyburn and his troops in South Carolina, flipping the momentum to Biden who then bulldozed his way to the nomination.

The progressive base has been looking for an alternative to Biden, if for no other reason than to nudge him farther left than he already is.

“Will there be a progressive challenger? Yes,” Jeff Weaver, Sanders’s former campaign manager told Politico in a story published in early January..

“He’s deeply unpopular. He’s old as s**t. He’s largely been ineffective, unless we’re counting judges or whatever the hell inside-baseball scorecard we’re using,” said Corbin Trent, a former communications director for New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ “People will smell opportunity, and D.C. is filled with people who want to be president.”
