Don Lemon tries to compare DeSantis nixing Black history course to Miami daycare blackface incident

CNN may have demoted Don Lemon to a morning gig, but that doesn’t mean his left-wing views have softened any, or that he is any less of an asset to the Democratic Party.

With all signs suggesting the marching orders have been sent out to attack Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, this almost certainly being a great indication of how well the popular Republican governor is polling in 2024, Lemon did his part on Wednesday by doing what the left always does to white male Republicans, paint him as a racist.

Lemon brought in Bishop Rudolph McKissick Jr., Senior Pastor of the Bethel Church in Jacksonville, and a board member of Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, to help with the heavy lifting while speaking of DeSantis in the same breath as a Miami daycare teacher who was accused of putting the children under her care in blackface to celebrate Black History Month — the teacher is from Argentina and said it was a cultural tradition in her country, according to NBC Miami.

DeSantis has been under fire due to a dishonest media portrayal of his decision to reject the College Board’s Advanced Placement African American Studies course over content that reflects elements of the radical left’s toxic critical race theory and queer theory — the political narrative being that he banned the teaching of black history, even though Florida law requires as much.

To his credit, Gov. DeSantis is not backing down:

Back to Lemon, he set his guest up by downplaying the facts, “His office says that it is both dishonest and incorrect, a claim that Florida is banning Black history and says that Florida has a Black history requirement in state statute. What is your response to that?”

“I think that’s a great talking point, but it’s disingenuous because we’re not saying that they don’t teach Black history. What we’re saying is you want to reject Black history, to teach it the way you want it so that this generation is not uncomfortable,” McKissick said. “Well, perhaps they need to be uncomfortable so they can join us in the fight. But equity and equality, they do have Black history, but it’s not really being taught as it should be across our state. And we’re not saying you don’t teach it. So we are not the ones who are dishonest. They are, because they know that’s not what we’re after. We’re after you not whitewashing our history.”

The key point here being that DeSantis is not allowing black history to be taught to the satisfaction of the hard left and their pursuit of reparations.

Lemon tried to score a sound bite of the “pastor” calling DeSantis “dishonest,” but he only got a head nod in the affirmative to his inquiry because McKissick’s audio blanked out momentarily.

That’s when the CNN host upped his smear tactics to cite the Miami daycare incident while taking another bite at the apple.

“Do you think he’s like that teacher who just doesn’t get it because they haven’t been taught, or do you just think he’s flat-out lying and being dishonest about it? Lemon asked.

“No, I think he gets it. I think he is using our state as the test lab to see how the nation responds. Because he wants to run for president,” McKissick replied. “And what we want to show the nation, Don, is if you allow him to run for president, what you’re seeing in a microcosmic way in Florida is what you will see in a macrocosmic way in the nation.”

While the activist/pastor gave up the gig when he noted that DeSantis wants to run for president — the governor has given no indication as of yet that this is true — the country can only hope that America may see a strong leader capable of taking on a disgustingly corrupt media and stand up in an intelligent, effective manner to the Marxist-inspired progressive left.
