‘She’s doomed!’ Greg Kelly pulls up blast from Nikki Haley’s past, says her candidacy is ‘D.O.A.’

For as much as politicians love the clever soundbites they spew to the salivating press, it is downright amazing how they forget that the internet is forever the moment they deliver them.

Take former South Carolina Governor and ex-United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, who is expected to officially announce her bid for the White House on Feb. 15.

It’s a move Newsmax host Greg Kelly called a “big, big, big mistake” given her previous remarks.

“This is Nikki Haley and she thinks she can be president,” Kelly began.

“Wow big, big, big mistake,” he said. “I mean, these career politicians, right? They really stand for nothing, because I do remember, and I’m going to show you right now, Nikki Haley saying that she would never do what she’s going to do.”

True to his word, Kelly played a clip of Haley from April 2021, during which she very clearly told a reporter that she would support Trump should he decide to run in 2024.

“I would not run if President Trump ran,” Haley stated at the time.

“She’s doomed,” Kelly declared. “Her candidacy is doomed right here. This clip. She can’t be a candidate for president.”

As BizPac Review reported, Haley is expected to formally announce her challenge to Trump at an event in Charleston.

Over the weekend, Haley released a video on Twitter calling for a “change” in leadership.

“The survival of America matters,” she stated. “It’s bigger than one person. And when you’re looking at the future of America, I think it’s time for new generational change. I don’t think you need to be 80 years old to go be a leader in DC. I think we need a young generation to come in, step up, and really start fixing things.”

If elected, Trump would turn 80 during his second term in office.

The dig, though not aimed at Trump specifically (Biden would be 81), is a far cry from the praise Haley previously lavished on the former president — a fact Kelly illustrated via clips of Haley gushing.

“Is she running for president of the brownies?” Kelly asked. “And this job that she had at the United Nations really went to her head. You raise your hand when the secretary of State tells you to raise your hand.”

The host then downplayed Haley’s accomplishments while serving as South Carolina’s governor.

“She’s claiming credit for stuff that she had nothing to do with,” he said. “I think this thing though, about not running against President Trump – this – makes her candidacy D.O.A.”

It’s a conclusion many on Twitter came to on their own.

In response to Haley’s call for change, one Twitter user asked, “How do you keep a straight face?”

“You are a backstabbing liar, go away, no one will vote for you!” the user informed Haley. “Karma is a beautiful thing.”

“Not you,” another user stated. “You change your tune with the tides. Not a leader.”

And, like Kelly, a third user pointed to Haley’s accomplishments as governor.

“There may be others,” the user stated sarcastically, “but these are the top five.”
