Senior U.S. general warns U.K. that British Army is no longer a ‘tier one’ military force: report

There’s a disturbing trend among the world’s military powers: Their ability to defend their countries has diminished to alarming levels, thanks to the infiltration of woke ideology, COVID-19 mandates, and the fact that they keep sending all their weapons, ammunition, and money to Ukraine.

The latest warning comes from a top U.S. general who told the U.K. Defense Secretary Ben Wallace that the once-elite British Army is no longer considered to be a part of the world’s “tier one” fighting forces, according to a Sunday report from Sky News.

The United States, Russia, China, and France claim that top-tier status, with nations such as Italy and Germany falling into the “tier two” category.

“You haven’t got a tier one,” the general told Wallace, according to sources. “It’s barely tier two.”

For decades, one source said, Britain’s military defense spending budget has been slashed, leaving its armed forces ill-equipped to fight a war.

Sky News reports that it is “understood” that the army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force “would run out of ammunition ‘in a few days’ if called upon to fight.”

Also “understood” are these frightening facts, according to Sky News:

  • The UK lacks the ability to defend its skies against the level of missile and drone strikes that Ukraine is enduring
  • It would take five to 10 years for the army to be able to field a war-fighting division of some 25,000 to 30,000 troops backed by tanks, artillery, and helicopters
  • Some 30% of UK forces on high readiness are reservists who are unable to mobilize within NATO timelines – “so we’d turn up under strength”
  • The majority of the army’s fleet of armored vehicles, including tanks, was built between 30 to 60 years ago and full replacements are not due for years

“Bottom line… it’s an entire service unable to protect the U.K. and our allies for a decade,” the source is quoted as saying.

It’s a problem many Western nations are now facing.

In March, Canada’s Defense Minister Anita Anand announced that, after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shipped loads of equipment to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Canada has “exhausted inventory from the Canadian Armed Forces” and they now have “capacity issues.”

And before that general goes to Britain and criticizes its military readiness, he might want to take a look at our own armed forces.

Earlier this month, Adm. Daryl Caudle, the commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command, said at the Surface Navy Association conference in Arlington, Virginia, that “the Navy might get to the point where it has to make the decision whether it needs to arm itself or arm Ukraine.”

Asked at the same event to comment on Caudle’s assessment, Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro replied by warning that if things continue the way they have been, the U.S. may reach that point within as little as six months, BizPac Review previously noted.

“With regards to deliveries of weapons systems for the fight in Ukraine, yeah, that’s always a concern for us,” he said. “And we monitor that very, very closely. I wouldn’t say we’re quite there yet, but if the conflict does go on for another six months, for another year, it certainly continues to stress the supply chain in ways that are challenging.”

And in December, it was revealed that the U.S. military is having “a historic recruiting crisis.”

The numbers had dwindled to such depths that, in 2022, the military lowered its standards for committed members and new recruits.

Meanwhile, as Fox News’s Tucker Carlson noted, the Biden administration does not want Americans to know what Zelenskyy has done with the $100 billion in taxpayer money President Joe Biden has sent him.

“The cost to us is profound,” Carlson stated. “In fact, we’re sending so much military equipment to Ukraine, to Zelenskyy and his wife, that we’re running out of weapons for our own military to defend our own country.”
