Jim Jordan checks Chuck Todd on FBI: ‘They raided Trump’s home. They haven’t raided Biden’s home’

“Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd attempted to sandbag Rep. Jim Joran (R-Ohio) Sunday, tensely confronting him over the House Judiciary Committee’s plans to scrutinize President Biden and his mishandling of classified material and not going after former President Trump’s handling of documents.

“Many of the things you want to investigate, when I look at them in isolation, I think they’re fair targets,” Todd commented, taking the leftist tack of always turning the conversation back to Trump. “I think they’re fair things for you to be questioning. The problem that when you look at it is you want to talk about the weaponization of the Justice Department, you don’t want to look at anything that happened during the Trump years.”

The MSNBC host ticked off a list of alleged instances where the Justice Department under Trump appeared to either attack his enemies or give his allies a pass.

“If you are concerned about the weaponization of the Justice Department in the Biden years, why not investigate the Trump years?” Todd disingenuously asked.

Jordan attempted to turn the conversation back to what he had planned to discuss on the show before getting sandbagged… the Twitter Files and its revelations concerning the FBI.

“We’re going to look at threats to the First Amendment,” he asserted. “We’re going to look at … what Elon Musk through the Twitter Files has displayed is unbelievable.”

“Do you think it’s okay for the FBI to be meeting every week and be suppressing information about a conservative… suppressing the Hunter Biden story, which we know is true? Do you think that’s alright?” he asked Todd.

Then the “Meet the Press” host turned to the talking point that Twitter is a private entity and can do whatever it wants, even though it was overtly influenced by the federal government and our intelligence agencies.

“That’s a private organization that made this decision,” Todd combatively responded.

With pressure from the government,” Jordan correctly pointed out. “That’s the point. I can understand a private organization can do it. I don’t think it’s right. But there shouldn’t be pressure from the government.

Jordan continued to rip the FBI.

“When is the FBI just going to stay out of the election process? Just let ‘We the People’ decide. Let the American people decide. In 2016, they spied on Trump’s campaign. In 2018, it was the Mueller investigation. In 2020, they helped suppress the Hunter Biden story. In 2022, they raided the home of a former president, 91 days before an election. Maybe just let the American people decide,” Jordan remarked.

Todd got his hackles up and contended that Trump was given a fair shake by the leftist powers that be.

“You keep talking about this raid on Donald Trump,” he challenged. “The amount of time… there was nine months between the initial action that the archives made for requests of documents before they even turned it over to the Justice Department. The subpoena was issued 60 days before they actually executed the subpoena. And more importantly, the only time the public found out about is because Donald Trump told the public about it. You paint it as a picture of the FBI did this, this, and this within hours of each other, when it was actually a year and a half of Donald Trump not complying with any of the requests from the National Archives. A year and a half. This is not some sort of proof that somehow they’ve weaponized and are playing politics over here.”

They raided Trump’s home,” Jordan noted. “They haven’t raided Biden’s home.”

“Because Biden didn’t defy a subpoena, Congressman!” Todd clapped back, obviously irritated. “[Trump] defied a subpoena.”

“President Trump had documents locked in a room with Secret Service protecting them while President Biden had documents in his garage and in a think tank that was funded by the Chinese,” Jordan stated. “I think there’s a difference.”

To conclude Todd’s whitewashing of Biden’s actions, he accused Jordan of applying a double standard when that is exactly what the left has done.

“You’re worried about the Chinese and Hunter Biden. Are you worried about the Chinese and Donald Trump?” Todd demanded.

Jordan said he wasn’t, before stating that the issue was “equal treatment under the law.”

“You do not seem to ever see the same conspiratorial problems when it’s a Republican,” Todd predictably charged.
