Sunny Hostin says most folks have MLK Jr.’s legacy all wrong, claims he was a ‘radical’ fighting for reparations

Much has been discussed about the legacy left by Martin Luther King Jr. and his famous fight for civil rights, but “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin says people have him all wrong.

Rather than fighting for equality, Hostin claims he was fighting for causes such as wealth redistribution, reparations and equity. In an explanation complete with progressive buzzwords, she says that MLK Jr. was a “radical.”

“I think the biggest problem with Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy is that people misinterpret his legacy. They misinterpret what he was asking for,” she said. “And so, while we always hear this, I want my little girls and boys to be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin, that’s all you ever hear anyone saying.”

“But he was a radical. He was deeply invested in economic equality. And he was deeply invested in making sure that black people got reparations and that there was wealth distribution – redistribution, and that’s the one area when we talk about diversity and we talk about inclusion and we talk about equity,” she continued.

Interestingly, she never quoted King or offers any substantive evidence of this interpretation of his legacy.

She went on to express her obvious disgust with people who want “diversity” and “inclusion” but don’t want to open the door for a conversation about reparations.

“But when you ask them giving us some reparations because this country was built on the backs of black people for free, no one wants to talk about that,” said Hostin, whose current net worth is estimated to be $3 million.

Social media was none too impressed by Hostin’s take on history:
