White House press sec shredded over claim that DeSantis ‘made a mockery’ of immigration with ‘political stunts’

It’s been a rough week for President Joe Biden’s diversity hires, especially chief flack Karine Jean-Pierre whose act may be starting to wear thin with members of the White House press corps as she struggles to keep the regime’s narrative afloat as crisis after crisis piles up.

The historic first black, lesbian, immigrant press secretary has been battered over questions about the FAA system outage that paralyzed the nation’s air traffic, the ongoing immigration crisis and her boss’s apparent habit of absconding with classified material so she turned her fire on one of the left’s favorite targets, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

During Friday’s daily press briefing, Jean-Pierre lashed out at DeSantis who has been dealing with an invasion of illegal immigrants who have descended on the Florida Keys in a flotilla of small boats, claiming that he has made a “mockery” of the immigration system with his “political stunts” after the governor deployed the National Guard to assist in dealing with what his office called “an alarming influx of migrants” in the southern part of the state that forced the temporary closure of a national park.

On Wednesday, she said of DeSantis, “We are talking about people who are coming from countries, who are dealing with political strife. They’re trying to find asylum — and he’s treating them like pawns,” and, after being asked by a reporter to revisit her remarks, Jean-Pierre doubled down.

“Yep. And I’m going to be — and I’m happy to repeat what I said, which is: Governor DeSantis has made a mockery of — of the system and he has consistently and constantly — as many of you have reported — has done political stunts, has not helped to address the issue, but has instead decided to put the lives of migrants who are coming here for a better life at risk. And that’s what we have seen from this governor,” she said.

Not one to get tripped up by letting facts interfere with the twisting of reality, Jean-Pierre downplayed the truth that DeSantis only deployed the National Guard after the US Coast Guard asked for help.

Governor DeSantis’ press secretary sought to set the record straight.

“Yes,@PressSec, you said this two days ago. Talk is cheap,” tweeted Bryan Griffin. “@GovRonDeSantis: “What [Florida] is doing is working. And so, I would just tell the White House, not only has the Coast Guard asked us to help, but we have no choice but to help because of your neglect and incompetence,” he added, quoting the governor’s words about White House incompetence.

Twitter doesn’t suffer fools and the users shredded Biden’s top spox for her remarks.

One such “stunt” that KJP may have been referring to was DeSantis’ relocation of a few planeloads of illegals to Martha’s Vineyard, the vacation paradise for high-rolling Democrat donors last fall, in a move that infuriated leftist hypocrites while exposing their own intolerance for brown people in their own backyard.
