Alleged migrants try to smash their way into Texas ranch house, video shows; locals train kids to use weapons

A shocking video of a group of migrants trying to gain entry to a Texas ranch house is a terrifying example of the dangerous environment that exists in the vicinity of the nation’s porous southern border where residents are in constant fear for their safety as a result of the Biden administration’s disastrous immigration policies.

In the footage which was shared by Bill Melugin of Fox News, the intruders are seen trying to smash in the door at the property in Edwards County, kicking it as they also attempt to pry open a window and then later banging piece of wood against the door which held due to the homeowner having spent thousands of dollars reinforcing her home security after previous break-in attempts.

Melugin, whose dedicated work has been instrumental in shedding light on a border crisis that few of his media colleagues have bothered to cover honestly, posted the short video clip to Twitter on Wednesday.

“Security video shows a group of suspected illegal immigrants trying to break into a ranch house in Edwards County, TX earlier this month. House is about 50 miles inland from border. Property owner tells me this has happened before, & she has spent $13k upgrading security,” he wrote.

In a second tweet, the intrepid reporter said, “Property owner tells me the men successfully broke into her neighbor’s home after they left hers, and that they were gone by the time Border Patrol responded. She said she latched her front door’s deadbolt to steel frame so they couldn’t get into hers this time.”

The video comes as the situation at the border continues to percolate with tension that will continue to build now that the Supreme Court has intervened to keep Title 42 in place, allowing the Trump-era immigration policy to mitigate the spread of COVID to remain in effect by staying its lifting until legal challenges play out, the surprise ruling came down on Tuesday, leaving tens of thousands of illegal aliens who had swarmed the border in anticipation of it ending stranded and increasingly desperate.

Residents in the vicinity of the border have turned to arming themselves as migrants have stolen from local stores and attempted to gain entry into homes late at night, in some instances, they have even killed family pets.

“I don’t feel safe,” Laura Ramos, an Eagle Pass business owner, recently told Fox News, saying that she keeps “several weapons” at her store to defend herself.

Ramos also said that she had taught her kids how to use weapons including tasers to defend themselves in the event of an incident while working.

“I already taught them how to use these weapons,” she told Fox News. “They’re teenagers. They’re 14 and 15 years old.”

“It’s something that has had to be done because we don’t know what can happen,” Ramos said. “We don’t know these people or where they come from.”
