Musk floats donations to Dems from fmr. FTX crypto CEO are over $1B, asks, ‘where did it go?’

Elon Musk is alleging that disgraced crypto exchange billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried, who seems to be having his soiled reputation whitewashed by the left, gifted Democrats over $1 billion in donations before FTX came crashing down and wants to know where all the money went.

If Musk’s accusation proves to be correct, that amount is far, far more than initially reported. Bankman-Fried previously claimed that the company gave $40 million to Democrats in the runup to the collapse of FTX. The company donated $36 million during the midterm elections, primarily through the Protect Our Future Pac.

Healthcare tech startup CEO Will Mandis tweeted on Friday, “SBF donating $40m to not go to jail for stealing $10b+ is one of the highest ROI trades of all time.”

“That’s just the publicly disclosed number. His actual support of Dem elections is probably over $1B. The money went somewhere, so where did it go?” Musk responded.

FTX was entangled with Democrats leading up to its implosion which was blamed on the sharing of funds between FTX and crypto trading firm Alameda Research.

Bankman-Fried, who has a physics degree from MIT, testified before Congress, met with lawmakers and regulators, and proceeded to donate heavily to leftist media outlets. He has still not been arrested and is reportedly ensconced in his elitist dwelling in the Bahamas while making the rounds on mainstream media.

Before the company’s demise, Bankman-Fried had pledged to donate $1 billion to political candidates, according to the Daily Mail.

He asserts that he donated to both major political parties. Conveniently, his donations given to the Republicans were dark, meaning that they are publicly untraceable.

The crypto mogul told vlogger Tiffany Fong that he had donated “about the same amount of money” to both Democrats and Republicans.

The disgraced leftist claims that he used a loophole in the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling to keep his Republican donations discreet because the “liberal” media would “freak the f*** out.”

“I’ve been their third biggest Republican donor this year,” he stated.

Bankman-Fried, 30, was purportedly the Democrats’ second biggest donor during the midterm elections. But he evidently also donated at least $1 million to Senate Republicans before the collapse of FTX, according to The Street.

During an interview with “Good Morning America” last week, which he conducted from his $30 million Bahamian penthouse, he said that he “wasn’t trying to manage risk at FTX.”

“I think that there is something even deeper wrong there which is I wasn’t even trying. Like I wasn’t spending any time or effort trying to manage risk on FTX,” he said during the interview.

The former billionaire remarked that if he’d spent “an hour a day thinking about risk management,” then his company would not have imploded.

“I think I stopped working as hard for a bit. You know, honestly, if I look back on myself, I think I got a little cocky, I mean more than a little bit and I think part of me like, you know, felt like we made it,” he commented.

The MIT grad sidestepped questions when it came to what he knew regarding FTX funds being shuffled around to pay debts for Alameda Research. That company is a trading firm founded by Bankman-Fried and run by his ex-girlfriend, Carolyn Ellison.

The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission are currently investigating Bankman-Fried for allegedly funneling $10 million from FTX to Alameda. FTX filed for bankruptcy in December. It delivered billions in losses to an estimated one million customers and investors.
