Trump shreds ‘loser for our nation’ McConnell for joining Schumer in attacks over Mar-a-Lago dinner

While establishment types like Senate Leaders Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) have united behind the chance to denigrate former President Donald Trump over a meeting with controversial figures Kanye West and Nick Fuentes, the 45th president had some choice comments of his own on the “loser for our nation” McConnell as he set the record straight.

Since the president had agreed to meet with West at his Florida residence Mar-a-Lago and was reportedly surprised by the rapper’s entourage which included commentator Fuentes, whom many consider to be an antisemite and white supremacist, it’s been clear that progressives and corporate media were using the incident as fodder in their latest attempt to ruin Trump’s reputation.

Virtue signals abounded and McConnell jumped on the bandwagon against the 2024 Republican presidential candidate when he declared, “There is no room in the Republican Party for anti-Semitism or white supremacy. And anyone meeting with people advocating that point of view, in my judgment, are highly unlikely to ever be elected president of the United States.”

Speaking with Fox News Digital, Trump responded to the remarks with a reminder about the integral role he presumably played in the senator still having a job. “Mitch is a loser for our nation and for the Republican Party,” he said, “who would not have been reelected in Kentucky without my endorsement, which he begged me for because he was going down.”

“His well-financed opponent had $93 million ready to spend when I drove him from two points down to 21 points up in a matter of days,” the president contended.

As for Fuentes, he reiterated, “I had never heard of the man–I had no idea what his views were and they weren’t expressed at the table in our very quick dinner, or it wouldn’t have been accepted.”

Trump described Kanye West’s request for advice that led up to the meeting as a lose-lose scenario in the eyes of corporate media. “If you see him, the fake news media will create a problem. If you don’t see him, the fake news media will claim I’m a racist.”

Meanwhile, Schumer took his attack against the president to the Senate floor and railed, “Last week, it was reported that Donald Trump–the former president of the United States and Republican standard-bearer–had dinner at Mar-a-Lago with a notorious bigot who fancies himself a leading thinker on the extreme edges of the hard right, embracing everything from white nationalism, to antisemitism, to outright Holocaust denial.”

He continued with his own characterization of how the meeting came to pass saying, “For a former president to set and have dinner with a high-profile antisemite is disgusting and dangerous! To give an antisemite even the smallest platform–much less an audience over dinner–is pure evil!”

It was then that the New York lawmaker took the cancel culture posture, demanding fealty to the whim of those who consider themselves most righteous, as he asserted, “Even assuming the former president didn’t realize Mr. Fuentes was coming to Mar-a-Lago, for him to refuse to condemn Fuentes and his bigoted words after the dinner is appalling and it is dangerous.”

Schumer went on to contend that “friends and allies” of Trump, “particularly those in the Jewish Community,” were pushing the president to speak out before he concluded, “I vociferously condemn the former president’s decision to meet with this antisemite, and urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to do the same.”

However, Trump brought up his foreign policy record to defend his reputation. “Nobody has to prove or be defensive of me and Israel. They have acknowledged that I’m the best friend and president to Israel,” he said before adding that, during his administration, the promise to relocate the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem had been fulfilled.

Likewise, an adviser to the president told Fox News Digital, “From the historic Abraham Accords bringing peace to the Middle East, withdrawal from the disastrous Iran nuclear deal, appointing a special envoy to combat the scourge of anti-Semitism, moving the American embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights, President Trump always has been and continues to be the closest friend and ally to the Jewish people and the state of Israel.”
